Rich,
I too have seen these photos but took them as museum mistakes when I built my M8 last year. My approach, which may be completely wrong, was to paint the inside of the turret OD since it's exposed to the outside, which would follow the same pattern as a tank destroyer (M10, M18, M36)or the M8 HMC. Either way, your build is progressing nicely, keep up the good work.
thanks.
Kevin

Karl,
I'm digging your Chevy with all the gear which really makes it looked hard used. Nice!
thanks

Jon D: cool choice looking forward to seeing that done.
Richard: the M8´s looking real good, and the one in Oveerloon is also white on the inside-turret and hull
Kevin: fantastic camo job, really looking forward to the weathering.
Nathan: you sure have box of bits there, I have the MkIV and I´m still scared to start it even after 5 months of owning it.
Sal: now that is something different, looking forward to that one too.
John Nito: at least the tracks look user friendly this time!
Karl: great job on your LRDG Chevvy, the stowage is fab.
I got some paint on my Scimitar LEP´:
Schreiber light olive 66 matt
Revell 09 anthracite
I hope to get some more done this week, if not even finish it.

Thanks for the comments chaps. Much appreciated. I'm declaring the Chevy done now as I can't do any more weathering on it till I start the dio . This is the finished result.

Thanks Pat. I'm not sure how to add pics to the gallery to be honest so if you want to do the honours feel free...lol. The dios going to be quite a way off as I've still got a few more vehicles to do, then the figures before I even start work on the base. The plan is to do a a link up between LRDG/SAS before the Barce raid at a replen point so I can't see it being completed before Christmas. You know how long it takes me to build my dios as they're generally big...lol. For this one I'm looking at at least 3 Chevys and about 4-5 jeeps plus crews

BTW, you folks you do honur the "Rapid" in "Rapid Reconnaissance Campaign"... And I like specially the Chevy and the mottled 250.

Okay the last time I posted the ribbon image looking for feedback I got one reply.
This is the image I came up with. Blue and Yellow seem to be the predominant colours used on Recce Units insignia.

Paul you might want to take a look at the following pic. Scimitar LEP's have their front side and indicator lights lifted to the horizontal as otherwise they are masked by the bins on the front sponson. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b318/maximus8425/Scimitarforwardrightcorner1.jpg

Paul your Scimitar is outstanding. Can't wait to see it finished.
Pat , the ribbon looks fine to me.
A brief update on the M8 Greyhound build. The turret and tools are installed, and I gave the beast a coat of Future, hence the shine evident in the photos.
The mount for the .50 cal. MG on the back edge of the turret looked low to my eye, so I fabricated a taller one based on one I saw in a picture, possibly a field expedient.
Next step - decals and a last bit of painting and weathering. I'm leaving the fragile items such as radio antennas, machine gun, tow cable, and stowage for last.
Cheers
Dick

Okay I have started the Skp Humber Scout car and it will not be as fast a build as some of yours
This isn't a terrible kit but it's getting there
Very thick attachment points. No location tabs or points for some parts and bad fit generally mean I have my work cut out for me- Actually if someone could cut my work out for me that would be very welcome

Paul: The Scimitars coming on nicely! Nice clean build. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Sal: Like it. You are one express builder . Not seen one of these built up yet so looking forward to seeing it finished.
Pat: Hang in there. I'm sure you'll hit that wall soon where everything falls into place. Have been quite tempted to pick one of these up myself.
