John yes mate I can really see that happening:
You're doing a great job there, there aren't many people around who can do multiple builds at the rate you go
Jon nice going , I just cannot get over that etch work on the turret
Alex K welcome aboard. There is no need for a paper or phone date as proof of start, I trust in everyone's honesty on this.
Nice choice there too, you'll have a tonne of fun with all those little armour blocks
But it'll look cool when done
James Thanks dude.
So you're a speed builder eh , looking cool and the blog looks fine too
Keep em coming lads

Hi all,
This will be my build, I have already cleaned the infamous flash from half of the road wheels and I don't think I can go with the kit supplied tracks.
I will not be using any aftermarket parts on this other than tracks but that could always change.
Cheers Rob.

Haha, yeah I'm a speed builder alright - a speed finisher too; only takes 5 minutes looking at another kit to forget about the one I'm building!
Tamiya should take most of the credit, I'm agreeing with everything I've heard about just how good this kit is, just falls together. Would be even quicker if I wasn't messing around trying to half destroy the old girl!
Thanks mate, glad you like the blog.

Rob : nice to have you in here my friend. Now lets
just see if you can stick to your statement . One thing is for sure, those ammo belt links are the wrong scale for this one

I've been plugging away. First of all, I guess I'm building the model 1962 kit now. I ended up putting the model 1972 bits back in the box along with the rest of the shared parts between the kits. I have other ideas for the 1972 kit and I found quite a few pics of model 62 ones with the BDD upgrade. The thing that's been slowing me down is adapting the Aires parts, designed for the old Tamiya kit, to fit the Trumpeter one. I also made an insert to go below the engine deck to represent the fan and radiator. Starting to think I should have opted for something closer to out of the box for the campaign! Oh well.

Hi Cam, there is nothing wrong with a slow going build.
At least that way you notice all the little things that need attending to
She's looking fine, and will look great when finished
Hi Ryan, nice to see you've chosen your build, and nice progress there too. But if you really want to you could do both builds, I would certainly have nothing against such a decision

A quick update, so I tacked this together to get an idea of the endgame. The engine deck is finished apart from a bit of trimming to fit, as is the front plate. As you can see my cutting and measuring of that was off a bit but nothing a touch of bodging cannot fix. I am currently working on the mantlet, adding Milliput and filing to shape that sort of thing.I have also added the strips to represent the flame cut ends to the casement. Next will be the hatches

Thanks for the kind words Paul !
Rob, I got that same old kit, will do some work on it for the next What If Campaign.
Nice scratch work Mecanix !!
Here's my small progress,
and some details on the front
David, I'm building that same kit too.
I will try a different pattern,
But I don't have any slat armour... will you be using for your kit ?
I like these colours / pattern

A lot more T-62's than I'd have thought in this thread (assumed the T-55 was the more popular AFV!), I think Trumpeter are probably to blame here by producing a lot of nicely done variants of the vehicle. Kind of want to do one myself now......
More progress on my T-55:

Hi David, welcome in here, a nice choice and good start
you have made
James, nice progress you have made, the subtle dents look great . Cool tip with the liquid glue
Hi Dan, welcome also to you. A nice golden oldie you brought with you too
Hi Jossip, I welcome you in here to. Yet another ERA 62, I think I'm going to have to rename this campaign to "the Great T62 campaign with special guests the T55"
Keep `em comin` lads.

Hi Ole, I have never used that modulation thing, I think it makes the paint job look "overdone". The color modulation looks ok on the last two pics, plus you still have the weathering to go through yet also.
So after all that she should look good
I have also got some paint onto the lower hull and running gear, I thought it would be easier to get running gear weathering started before the fenders go on. The horrible dark green is a base coat for later.

I'd like to join the campaign but I've got a slightly started Tamiya T55 (Some parts off sprues, road wheels assembled). Would that be acceptable?

On the mindset it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission I got some really great progress today. If I'm denied joining the campaign I guess it'll be ready for the local contest

There are some lovely builds coming along...
After a month away, I have come back to the T62 M1 with renewed vigour. I decided the fuel drums would have to go. Also it seemed a shame not to use the nice PE mesh over the engine grilles so I pared away the covers and stuck them in place...
Also managed to do the fuel lines. Not sure they are 100 % accurate but they look okay, I think.
Next up is the priming...

Thanks for the prompt response Paul, I'm sure I snapped a couple photos of my progress a little while back, now I'll have to try and find them.
As I said, if it's too far along I understand too.
