Well I finally have more progress to report. My tank has been primed painted and i have started weathering. I gave it a brown wash heavily diluted with alcohol and water it settled into a perfect dust pattern. I should have saved it for last. Well live and learn and keep trying.

The first pictures are the base coat, then the wash.

@John: nice camo, really sets it off and I do like the paint on the timber it gives me some help for mine.

@Thomas: all of those road wheels gives me nightmares of the glue that I spilled over my cutting matt. Nice job on your base coat I will be watching your wash.

@Rob: which paint are you using to stick to the rubber track, I have been paint with some craft paints from a local craft big box store with mixed results.

Hi Bob,
They are not rubber tracks, they are Armour Track Models track. As for the paint I used Alclad gloss black primer then their steel followed by a pigment wash.

Cheers Rob.

Thomas you're getting there dude, just don't give up on us

Rob it was sure worth while waiting for those tracks, looking good there

Ok guys, we have just over 5 days to go . Is this gonna be enough or would you like until next Friday (23 May)

I would like to see as many builds as possible in the gallery, but I also don't want to keep extending the campaign.
So let us know what you all think .

I just applied a coat of Future on the hull and turret, now to wait for it to dry then to apply the wash and if I can get my camera to agree to work I will post the photos.

Thanks Paul!

Actually these are not the tracks I ordered, they just left China Yesterday these came from a large lot left at a church. that they were going to just throw away.

John, nice work there. The photos in the sunlight show your work much better than the last ones.

Thomas, the Tiran looks great and the paintjob looks cool, which color did you use?

Rob, your T55 looks really good. The tracks look great. Did the weight do the job on lowering the height?

Finally major assemblies are done, all 8 sprues of tracks cleaned and the kit is primered. Time to start painting and get the tracks done. I hope i'll be on time!

Christopher - Looks awesome. The only diorama in this campaign I'm going to try a power build and then blog later. Photo optimizing takes up too much time

Tom . Rob - finishing up

Nito74 - You did it! Even with all the other builds you're doing

I'm trying to finish the other two for this build so I'll build first then BLOG after. This method may work.

BUBLINA
I basically just need to paint it and paint the vinyl kit tracks now.
I bought this kit at a show for cheap and it was opened already. I thought I reviewed the contents thoroughly but must have missed the fact that there are no tracks now

I think I'll borrow the tracks from the FAVORIT, for the picture in the campaign gallery because they are the same style. Where is the gallery

Anyone have a set of SKIF vinyl kit track set they would like to sell to me? They are the open link edge style, like the FAVORIT. If available, quote me a price + shipping in PM

KoSprueOne hang in there man, you are doing a fine job with all three. I want to see them finished.

Christopher very nice little diorama!

John nice T-62! I like the camo.

John, I don't think the weight did anything.

I am going to do a little more weathering then take a picture before adding some mud, just in case things go pear shaped.

Cheers Rob.

Wow, there are some good builds getting finished.
I don't know if I'm going to finish mine in time but I've got part of tomorrow for building and Monday is a holiday... A solid thrash and I might just manage to get it done.

Thanks for the kind words !!!
I'm quite happy with the results, it was my third T-62, finished some years ago a Tamyia and a Trumpeters Mod.1962.

I still have another one in stash, the one I wanted for my second build. It didn't make it. I will build it for sure.

Trumpeter's also released ERA versions and now 3 or 4 Iragi versions planned.
So Paul, we have time and plastic on our side for more Campaigns !!

Congratulations for all the other builds, we will have a stunning Gallery at the end of this Campaign !!

The guys on the top of the tank are waiting patiently with their AK's to see the finished builds

Hi folks!

My T-55 Enigma is done. Pictures are uploaded in the gallery.

I finished building it during a business trip back in February, and then took a hiatus from it to finish something else. I got it painted and weathered in the last few weeks.

It's built OOB. For the finish, I wanted to show a difference between the original vehicle and the Iraqi add-on armor by having the Soviet dark green show through on the vehicle, with plain ole rust on the armored boxes. I used a base coat of Tamiya acrylics, and used Testors Model Masters enamels and Mig weathering powders. I used the "foam" method for the first time to do the chipping.

When I finished, I thought it looked a little overdone, so I oversprayed with very, very thinned Tamiya Buff to tone it down and it seemed to "tie the room together".

Thanks for looking. Keep up the good work!!

Chris
