Hello all, some cool things happening now. I really like the
AEC and Humber as i have both kits, and they where my original choices but I backed out due to the time frame with other campaigns. Well here's a quick update from my Sdkfz 234 ?
First camo, Testors sand with desert mustard
Then German dark yellow 1943 from testors, but.... I noticed that there where a million air bubbles in the turret.
I hope I ve gotten all the holes sorted, then I'll get it painted again tomorrow

nice work on the hull Paul, shame about the turret... hope to see the repair soon.
My 222 has progressed, close to painting. Unfortunately I have killed my SD card so no photos at the moment...

Hello All,
As I have till June to get a build done and I have not done one in 2+ years, I have a question:
Will a SdKfz 234/2 Puma be allowed? If so, I will get a photo of the unbuilt kit posted and start.
Cheers,
Bruce

Rob and Greg, thanks for the encouragement guys, the turret will be shown shortly.
Bruce, the 234 family are all armoured cars my helpful friend, go for it
Nice to hear from you again
Well here's the repaired turret, the paint job looks a little rough but I'm putting it down to multiple paint layers
more tomorrow, hopefully.

nice save Paul......
due to domestic constraints over the Christmas period this will be the last update for this year... i think its in a pretty good place now - 2 side jerry can racks, one on the front right wheel arch and a stowage rack (note the box is not level rather than the rack)...
next update in the new year should see it painted

Gentlemen, I can't believe my last update was Oct.31. For that I am sorry. Don't know where the time goes.
There has been great progress by every one and all the builds look fantastic. My Dingo is almost there, a little more weathering and put the mirrors on and we'll be done
There ya go. Sorry for the absence.

Hi Guys, finished my AEC Armoured Car Mk1 - 1/35. Built straight from the box. Great kit, but be prepared and bring bucket loads of patience though. Lots and lots of tint tiny parts... worth the effort though. Hope you enjoy the final product.

Very nice Clay, look very good
I've done some progress on the interior, but build the turret & roof to change a little
Actually working on repairing the mis-alignement of the side armor plates and the front and the trunk, more picture later this week I think

Rob , thanks mate, just shows what you can do with super
glue and baking soda
Your 222 is looking great, what colour scheme are you going for?
Clay fantastic build dude
Greg looking great there. I like the muzzle cover
did you scratch that or buy a replacement barrel?
The camo scheme is spot on, just like some reference pics I've seen
Well here she is, the Sdkfz 234/1 with a field modification. It now carries the Panzer 2 Luchs turret.
Here's the last procedures:
A black wash followed Revell aqua gloss and decals:
then I added a tonne of scratches and chips:
Then came the oil dots and general dirtying up, I forgot to take pictures of that
After that came a coating with Testors dullcote followed by graphite touch ups, a dirty wash on the wheels and a light dusting with pigments:
I may add a figure in the turret later but as far as I'm concerned I'll call it done.
Hope you like it.

Paul, was thinking this will be a in-theatre desert scheme - so not quite standard RAL but something a unit could mix up... its been field modded and will have a pair of LRDG sand trays included (as to where, that i dont know cos them things are quite long). I am trying to depict a 222 that might perhaps be used for patrol duties (akin to LRDG) so will also add camo netting, maybe some more boxes...

Painted the chassis / structure details.
Much of it won't be visible. Also I can see lots of dirt & dust ending up there too...
