Glad to have you back in charge Bruce
You're going to laugh, but I know exactly what I'm going to want to build for the Ost campaign

Hello All,
Forgot to let you know about the next Blitz Campaign.
So start studing you Ost-Front books andtake stock of your Ost-Front Models as we are going Ost for the next one.
More details will be coming out in Feb. 2014.
Bruce
now I'm intrigued! I'm wondering what your time frame will be. I have a couple of kits that would suit an Ost-front campaign, but it would have to be '44 onwards?
Guess I'll have to wait and see!

All of you are going to have to wait till the end of this campaign.

Hello All,
Question: do you all wish to continue the blitz campaign into the Pacific after the fall of Berlin and the end of the Blitz camapigns in Europe?
If so, I have all ready have some ideas for ground, sea, and air combat for the Pacific War.
Let me know,
Cheers,
Bruce

A Pacific Blitz sounds great. I wouldn't mind trying my hand at some Japanese subjects.

Quick update on Carol.
There's not a lot to describe. I'm wrapping up the hull assembly. Assembly is pretty straight-forward. The carpet monster gobbled up the inner hull MG fitting. This has left me with a gap that I'll fill.
I'm just sort of sloshing through this one. I'm not really happy with the kit. Lots of wasted potential. I'll start on the turret next and try to get that squared away. I'm looking forward to setting this one's base up. I'm thinking about grabbing a Jeep off the shelf and adding it as part of the scene.

Update on Carol.
Multi-shot image of turret assembly.
Turret together and sitting atop tank. Grousers were a pain and look bad but they'll be covered by stowage.
Suspension mounted and tank ready for paint.
This kit really tried my patience and has been a huge let-down. It was a build made more difficult by bad fit, flash, mis-molds, etc. And of course AFV's placement of sprue connection points. It seemed like each piece needed work and each step was a fight. I'm just glad the assembly aspects are done.

Hello All,
@ Great Job Anthony on your Tiger. Looks great and a great match for the photo's I have of Wittman's Tiger.
@ Alex, I feel your pain. I did a subchaster that had alot of the problems your are having. I finished it, but it took about 2+ yrs of on/off working on it. You will win this battle, I know it.
@ Everyone else, Good work so far.
Here is a hint for the next one Soviet Union lost some soldiers by freezing to death and the same city was fought over 2 twice by the same combatents.
Cheers,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce. The Stuart has been a real pain and I am glad the assembly is done. I did manage to find the missing piece to the hull MG cover a couple of hours ago. I have no idea how it got to where I found it. I had to perform some surgery to get it in there and managed to do it without too much damage. So now the front looks right.
As far as Blitz 6, if it's what I think it is, it should be a good one. I've got the figures for it in the stash as well.

Wow, you're getting fancy here Sal! The Dragon kits are good kits, but they tend to overdue their engineering which creates weird fit issues and other minor annoyances like that.

Some excellent creations, the last Tiger I by Sal, the road wheels' running surface should not be black. A metallic colour would be more appropriate. The running surface were hardened steel. Thus had a sheen to them, of a dull steel.
I will get a move on with my PaK 43. I have obtained all the bits needed.

@Trevor;
You are of course correct regards the "tire faces" on those "Gummigedampften stahl-aufrollen" steel-wheels. They had naked steel bearing surfaces.
Starting out with painting those bearing surfaces black (either gloss or flat is equally OK) is really, I find, a super good way to go! I do that with all my steel idlers and toothed sprockets, too. After all weathering is done and dirt is applied, I hit those "naked steel" surfaces (steel-wheel, sprockets, idlers) with the graphite pencil and burnish these up!
@Sal; The above would be a simple final step, given as you have those surfaces done in black already - and I'm making no assumptions about what your intent or strategy is - a graphite rub-on will make them look pretty naked-steel-like!
And, while at it with those wheels... don't forget that the inside of the track is a rubbed steel surface where the wheels contacted the links, and the track teeth also rubbed on wheels and on the idlers... so, going over link-teeth and "drawing" burnished paths on the inside of the track runs is a good follow-up to capture these effects of contact and wear. And again, AFTER all the dirt and weathering is applied.
Bob

The road wheels are actually a metallic color that with the shadow appears black in my amateur photo skills
