hi all,
After taking a few months off from this build due to frustration I have finally addressed the front fender issue and primed the twins.
Frustration is still present but I do want to get these done so I will persevere and nug through it.
So here is the initial layer of paint using Vallejo Black Primer.
as you can see in the photo there are gaps between the hull and the front fenders on one tank and well the fenders went flying off the other as I was spraying the primer.
Back to the drawing board.
Plan on laying the base coat next weekend.
Dave

Dave, I wondered where you'd gone. Thought you'd gone AWOL
..lol. Been following your Panthers with interest as I like the sound of your dio and the work that's going into them. Don't let them get you down as I know exactly what you mean. I think we've all been there at sometime hence my sdkfz 250 was never finished a couple of years ago but am determined to finish it for this one. From your earlier pics they both look bang on so I'm looking forward to the end result..Karl

Hey guys. I know I haven't posted and updates since I started but I have one now. I'm almost finished with the L-3 Cub. Just a few more decals to put on, a gloss coat and it'll be finished. So here are some pictures:

I've now started work on some dead Germans. As there aren't any decent corpses out there it's abattoir time again. I've got a big tub of Germans in various states so there's no shortage of donor parts...lol. I've spent the last 30 mins looking at pictures of battlefield casualties so I think the poses are pretty much okay. Next stage filling and sanding before I even think about getting a paintbrush out

Nice clean build Mike. May pick one of those up at some stage as it looks a nice kit. What would finish it off nicely would be a pilot and British officer pouring over a map next to it on the bonnet of a jeep. Sorry I always think dio or vignette when I build something...lol. Well done mate.

I had planned on putting a pilot in but I had nothing that could represent a pilot of this aircraft from this era. Go figure. And thanks. The cockpit is quite spartan of detail but it's there in places. I had trouble with the cockpit, cockpit frame and canopy all fitting together well. If you want to buy one, Bronco makes one in 1/35.

Well done Mike.
The first finisher I believe.
Nice build buddy.

Finished the first two dead Germans. I'm going with the half track idea. I've been working on the position of the machine gunner dead inside the half track and have almost nailed it.
I'm quite happy with their "dead" positions. Bullet wounds without lots of gore and natural fallen poses. What do you think?

Hi guys
Been busy with another build, which I will be posting soon. I have managed to fit in some work on the Arnhem scene and actually finished it last night. So loads of pictures

I wanted to make it authentic so I took Als advice and ordered resicrafts decal set.
As you can see foliage for the gun, I reworked it as you will see in the final pics.
As you can see the jeep is now full.
And dry fitting of the man on the gun.
The figures took the most time.
The markings for 2nd Bn South Staffords
The figures again nearly all done, some weapons needed finished at this point.
Close up of the front of the Jeep
With the weapons in their holders
One more dry fit before glueing in place
The finished Dio.
This is what I wanted to copy
And this is the finished result
Through the fence
and from the front
Above shot
I have really enjoyed this build, and I have 6 months to throw something else in too.
Keep working guys, I look forward to seeing your builds progress.
Pete

Looking nice Pete.
I haven't updated in a while but I am still plugging away at it. The figures have really taken up way too much time. I've shifted gears a bit and restarted on the M4A4.

Alex I know what you mean with regards the figures, the jeep and gun took less than the figures. Stick though mate.
And thanks for the comments

Nice work Pete, I like it. Couple of observations though. You've put the slings on the Lee Enfields in the wrong place. You appear to have attached them to the muzzle whereas they attach to the metal band about half way up the stock furniture. There's no sling swivel that far forward. Easy enough mistake to put right though. Also have you thought about putting something in the foreground as there's a lot of dead space or moving the figs/ vehicle forward a bit? Aside from that really nice build mate. I've been a bit lazy the last week re modelling as I've been doing some 1/1 scale modelling in the garage...lol. I needed to do some body filling and respraying on my Vespa and then tidy up the paintwork. Bizarrely it's a lot easier to paint in 1/35th (plus a lot cheaper!)as errors aren't so noticeable.
All I've got to do now is finish the half track off, add some more rubble to the street and place the remaining figures. I may do a couple more dead Jerries though. The Paras are all finished now bar two which is a good job as I've run out of heads. Once this dios finished I'll go back to my 6lber

This is where I'm at with the half track. I'm sticking this in to the Unfinished Business campaign as it's been like this for about 3 years and I need it now. I can't even remember what I bought it for as there's usually an idea for a dio behind every buy rather than on a whim.

Thanks Karl...and thanks for the heads up on the Lee Enfield lol. Need to sort that.
Look forward to seeing you finish street scene mate.
