If I recall corectly - 8 mm. But I'm not quite sure if it's ok. Taken 'by eye' from this photo posted by me above. After glueing into the Humvee trunk I guess it should be a little bit shorter, maybe 7 mm... Sorry, I cannot give You sure info

Well I want to get the proportions as close as I can.

Kuba, how does this look?

I can certainly attempt some. I guess a good place to start would be modifying the CheyTac model?

Yes, I think that would be an ideal start. It would have to look like a Sci-Fi rifle or carbine though with battle scope and magazine instead of long sniper scope.

Mike, I was talking to a buddy on FB about his M577 build and he showed me a spool of wire he made for it. It made me remmeber some more "commo" equipment that you possibly could design.

Michael, the Chameleon looks really good. Did you attempt the mounting plate for the HMMWV bed yet?

Regards,

Eric

I changed the stock so far. Single curved attachment now (yes it's also a new file). I started on a new forward section but I have to redo it. It's going to take some time. Never worked on sci-fi stuff before.

Unfortunately I haven't started it yet. I made a start on a TA-1042A/U field telephone but that's just a box at the moment. I also have a SOFLAM going but it needs to be refined. The basic shape of the SOFLAM is there but it's missing details.

I'm thinking about 2 to 4 depending on the cost of the sets. If the price for 4 seems a bit high, I'll try 3 per set. If the price for 3 is a bit high, I'll try 2. And vice versa.

I haven't made a mounting plate. I think I'll go the route that Kuba went and just make a flat plate on the bottom. I can't find anything on the device searching online.

The Chameleon model has been updated with the flat mounting plate and is now available on Shapeways. It comes as a set of 3 for $21 in FUD and $29 in FXD.

I just got in a few things from Shapeways and I have some photos! I'm saving the best for last though so if you don't want to see all this other stuff, you can skip to the end.

These last 19 are the Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform that was recently finished. It fits together pretty well without much modification. I had to widen the holes by a little bit (one turn of the Xacto) but it wasn't really necessary.

Very good Michael G,

These are most interesting, :-) I really want to see these with a coat of primer as the tech is getting model useful.

Pics 22 & 24 are most useful as the others are drowned out with glare off your table. Please consider placing the translucent shapeways parts on a neutral or black card to give a better contrast in any future.

Thanks for putting up your pics & look forward to seeing them in situ on a model or two.

I uploaded the 183mm L4 gun barrel but unfortunately it's just too expensive even when broken down into parts.

I've gotten started on the roller supports. What unit are the measurements in? Millimeters or inches or centimeters?

I did all these in inches.
These will be insanely helpful for couple of my LVT builds.

The drawings are in 1/5 scale. Are the measurements also 1/5 or 1/1?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...without having to go through the other 34 pages of this thread, I'm gonna step out there and suggest that you give the T-34, T-55, T-62 and T-72 road wheels a beat up/chipped/gouged to the rubber look, a shot!

The link to the picture is wrong. Here's the picture:

I also want to let everyone know that starting May 22, Shapeways will be introducing a new pricing structure for the Frost Detail plastics. This is will lower the price of some products but could also raise the price of some others. I will keep you updated with new news when it appears.
