Bobbleheads of Hitler and the rest of the gang?

Oh, BOY! Can you imagine GOERING as a "Bobblehead"?!?

Interesting sidelight- Also saw the T29E1 from HOBBY BOSS on that "moxingfans"(?) site...

I couldn't find the T29 on that site. My computer doesn't translate other languages. Was there any news about it or any pictures???

I had to wait a few minutes before the images came up. Try "entering" on one of the really small pics of other models down in the right-hand corner. You'll come up with TRUMPETER and HOBBY BOSS kits...

It's great to finally see the T29 kit, the Dragon US T54 photo is also in the ML Modern forum which looks great. I hope the only major flaw with the T29 is the backwards facing chevrons, because the fix is so simple. Going to be harder to fix on the boxart though!

Oh, the box art is correct- What happened was, the Ordnance Testing Crew was in the middle of changing the Tracks on both sides 'cause the "Higher-Ups" wanted to get out of there early so that they could consummate their liasons with their "on-the-side-girlfriends", and the Ordnance Testing Crew got DRUNK in the meantime, and didn't notice that they had installed those pesky Tracks on backwards...

True to form, the "Detail Experts" at DRAGON didn't notice the error in the old black-and-white photo that they had found in some old musty and moldy cellar, so the "Detail Experts" had their artist depict that T29E1 just as it appeared in the photo...

A M75 or M59 APC would be nice - just don't let it be part of the Black Label Series. Other guesses could be an expansion of either the M48 [a M45A5] or the M60 [M60A1, M60A3, M60A1 with ERA, etc.] series. But let's face it, it will probably be some German WWII subject.

James Bilbrey

Hi, James!

Not to be a "stick-in-the-mud" but AFV CLUB is doing the M60A1, -A2, and -A3; the DRAGON M60A2 hasn't received any rave reviews, while the AFV CLUB -A2 shines, EXCEPT for the overdone "cast steel effects" on the Upper Hull which, IMO, is easily fixed...

I wouldn't expect DRAGON, or even BLACK PLAGUE, (God FORBID!!!), to do an "add-on" M60A1 or -A3. The other stuff you mentioned is game, though. However, I DOUBT that DRAGON would create any kind of a "Mystery Kit AD" for ANY US, British or even Russo-Soviet vehicle, when they KNOW that the "Panzer-Heads" are drooling for yet "another Tiger"! I'm being facetious, of course...

My guess, (seriously, now), would be that DRAGON will probably do something in the WWII German genre, since they seem to do very well with that stuff.

What with their new Hetzer-based kits, it wouldn't surprise me if they launched an entirely new series of early, mid and late-production Hetzers, as they are always popular amongst the "Panzer-Heads" AND armor modellers, in general. Also, THUNDER MODEL will be releasing their "Bergehetzer" soon, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see DRAGON release one of their own, just as a "spoiler"...

I PERSONALLY would like to see DRAGON actually release the M3 Lee that they advertised a few years ago in their "Coming Soon" ads, but I don't think that that will EVER happen, so I'm not going to hold my breath...

It's a "cut-throat world" out there gang, and competing model companies have never been shy about under-cutting each other...

WHOOOPS-A-DAISY!!! I was DRUNK when I wrote that! Maybe HOBBY BOSS "borrowed" DRAGON's "Design Experts" for a while!

No apologies from me to DRAGON, though. They make ENOUGH mistakes with their US and British kits as it is...

I think maybe, that David was joking about the 1/16 scale AT-AT- It would be a HUGE kit even in 1/48!

You know, what with all the different "Paper-panzers" that we've been seeing over the last few years, I'm wondering why DRAGON or one of the other manufacturers hasn't done a kit of the "one-off" experimental Pz.Kpfw.III with FAMO Suspension..? It featured Interleaved Road Wheels, with a Torsion Bar Suspension, all-new Sprockets and Rear Idlers, and NO Return Rollers. Short 5cm Main Gun, no "Bustle" Storage Bin on the back of the Turret. The Germans actually had built one of these "Pz.III/FAMO hybrids" in 1942, but rejected it after testing...

I think I may "kit-bash"/convert one of these "ODD-BALLS" out of a spare TAMIYA Pz.III Ausf.L and FAMO Prime Mover Half-track that I have in my inventory... Someday...

You watch- I'll juuuust be putting that "completed" conversion into one of my display cases, and... BINGO! Some manufacturer will release a Pz.III/FAMO as a regular production kit!!!

Dennis, That happens to me every time. If I buy an expensive resin along comes the plastic version! Mind you it must be difficult these days for the resin manufacturers to decide what to invest their time in. I have 1/35 resin Maus E100 E-50 E-75 and much more. There again I also bought the plastic ones!!

C'mon guys, everybody knows it will be a Turan III tank. In German 1946 markings of course and with a 128mm cannon.

Hi, Dustin!

YES! But I meant in 1/35 scale- That photo of the Pz.III/FAMO model shows that it looks like it might be in a much smaller scale. So which scale is this kit in? The details in the pic look a little bit "soft" for it to be 1/35. Am I right?

Yeah, ME TOO!!! Don'tcha just HATE IT?!? I've been thinking about buying a full resin 1/35 kit of an Australian Sentinel AC III- But no sooner will I open the kit box to inspect the parts, then someone like DRAGON, (Fat chance, HA!), or more likely TRUMPETER, HOBBY BOSS, or BRONCO will release one in PLASTIC!!!

PS- I wouldn't mind that at all...

Yes, it certainly IS- That's why I brought it up in the first place! I'd buy a plastic kit of that one, if one were ever to be made available, just 'cuz I think it has a certain "appeal" to it...

As far as "pie-in-the-sky" armor goes, I'd much rather have seen this "one-off" Pz.III/FAMO than that misconceived "Jagdpanther II" that AMUSING HOBBY will be producing. I bought their VK.3002(DB) kit a while back, and their NbFz. V, both of which I'm very pleased with. But their "Jagdpanther II" just doesn't make any sense, from a practical point of view- (see ARMORAMA's "NEWS" column)

One would need to display a 1/35 "Death Star" out in Space, no? Can you imagine?

Depending on the sources, Death Star in Episode IV was 160 km in diameter. Episode IV Seath Star wsa 900 km. Makes 4,6 km for Ep. IV and 26 km in scale. Wonder if you permission of the aviation security to hang a 26 km object into airspace. Would in be a "skymark" then.

M114 track to go with their 1950s-1960s Cold War Stuff. is what I would love to see. And some Cold War figures would be nice. Maybe even those goofy OPFOR with the ridges on the helmets and triangle patches.

Or...since they've done all the Panzer46 stuff, what if for kicks they did some interwar German tank mockups on bicycle or foot? It would be funny.

If we're going totally crazy on this, I'd LOVE to see a Pershing II or an M667 Lance in plastic; but hey, that's just me!
