Not a big fan of this sort of guessing games some manufacturers like to speculate on, but Chinese-speaking segment of the WWW is discussing their upcoming 'Surprise tank kit'. On sale this October. Hope it won't be something we've already seen with a couple of new parts added. Let it be exciting, non-Black label release a lot of modellers dream of...

Nope, neither of those (I hope). They say it is an all-new something in 1/35th scale. Sales start on October 1-st, the National day of PRC.

Highly unlikely, but please let it be a BT-5.

Maybe the secret is that this will be the first kit manufactured entirely from DS.

You Slay me, Joe Z.
I bet it's a release of the Chinese version of the Armata. Like "People's Type16 MBT".

I would love to see a BT-5 or BT-2 but I will guess that it will be something on the Type 97 chassis since they have the Type 97 turret done.

Why not an AMX-13 since they did the turret for the Egyptian Sherman ?
Or because of their fulfilling ancient catalog promises like the Sdkfz 252. It's the M3 Lee.

You mean the M3 Lee that they were supposed to have done about 5-10 years ago..?
NAAAAH... That'd be TOO much to hope for...
My bet would be something along the line of... Say, WWII German..? Umm, A NEW PANTHER or a TIGER!!!
With "DS" ZIMMERIT!!!

That can be popped in the kit or displayed separately on its bobble head base.
And out of left field: it is actually a Centurion mark 1 that will also be released as a Girls und Panzer Der Film tie-in.

A M75 or M59 APC would be nice - just don't let it be part of the Black Label Series. Other guesses could be an expansion of either the M48 [a M45A5] or the M60 [M60A1, M60A3, M60A1 with ERA, etc.] series. But let's face it, it will probably be some German WWII subject.

My money would have been on Tamiya after covering the BT-7 1935 and 1937, but their output has always been hard to predict.

It's great to finally see the T29 kit, the Dragon US T54 photo is also in the ML Modern forum which looks great. I hope the only major flaw with the T29 is the backwards facing chevrons, because the fix is so simple. Going to be harder to fix on the boxart though!
