Wow the cars coming of pit road are starting to look good. I was surprised to see more drag cars in the campaign. They all look great and looking forward to seeing all the entry’s once their finished.

They sure did Penny! It's all purple and green over here!
Those cars are so totally different than what we use to see here in Europe!
What a great looking car. What kit was it? Did the decals came with it or is it AM stuff?

Very nice Penny.
It looks to me, based on the interior, that it is the AMT kit. AMT uses the same interior for the Ford and Chevy kits, not sure if they ever made a Dodge kit.
:[]-- I met Terry Labonte, the driver of that paint scheme, while he was Winston Cup champion. We met by "accident" after the Cup race at New Hampshire Int'l Speedway. I had pit/paddock passes that year and he rearended my car while we were trying to funnel from 6 lanes to 1 to get through the tunnel under the track to get out. Nice guy, one of the few Chevy drivers I actually liked.
Great job on the decals, how long did they take?

OK, finished the Taurus.
As I said, not a bad kit, but very short on interior detail. There are no fit problems with the interior and engine, but the hood and rear window were warped. I had to glue the rear window in with CA. To keep it from fogging as it cured, I placed it in front of a running fan overnight. I may glue the hood down because it is so warped and just leave the body unsecured to the chassis.
Mother, thanks for running a great campaign, get well soon.
Hwa-Rang, thanks for stepping up while Mother is down.

You know, I never posted in here...duh.
I finished my Armorama themed funny car which is OOB except for the custom decals, whcih i made myself. (Many thanks for the help I got on doing those).
There is homage to Staff_Jim, as operator. Also, the Silver and Gold A-team decals are there, with the moderator ribbon, and on the front is the Golden Rivet. oh, and the Armorama logo on it. Kit decals provided the rest, but they were pretty horrible.
My hat goes off to the car modelling group, the kits are harder than I thought.

Dave, allthough you had a lot of problems with the prior decals this car looks stunningly good with this ones to! Specially with the sun shining on it so beautifull! That picture before the garage is just for real!

Ah, you were the first to finish if I remember correctly?
This was a good reminder of your car. Actually, I have the opinion that Staff_Jim's own car must look like this one! Or perhaps as Armorama's staffcar?
Anyway, I like it very much; you also not see so many shiny camouflage arround here! Great work!

Thanks for the kind words guys....The kit is actually a Revell/Monogram limited edition kit that I had stuffed behind my A/C kits. The decals do come in the kit.

I had some major problems, with my Nascar last night. I closs coated the body almost two weeks ago, so I assumed it would be dry by now. I put the body, of the car, upside down, on a piece of cloth, so I could fix the windows to the body. I fixed the windows and left it to dry. That's when my troubles started. When I remowed the body from the cloth, it was stuck to the cotton cloth. So now I had cotton fibres and the texture of the cloth, all over my gloss black paintjob. I polished the damaged parts with a piece of paper tissue. Considering the amount of damage the result was acceptable.
Next problem: I started to paint the window bolts silver with a toothpick. Should be quite easy, but as I put the the toothpick to the first bolt the paint was no longer on the toothpick, it was all over the gloss black roof of the car. due to static electricity(Probably from all the polishing) the paint was sucked from the toothpick and was now all over the roof, in tiny silver dots.
I can't bare the thought of having to strip of all the paint. Tonight I will try to sand the roof and gloss coat it once more.

Jesper,
Try wet sanding using the paper side (not the usual grit side) of a sheet of fine grit sand paper. You should be able to polish the spots out if they aren't too thick. There is a small amount of the grit that gets stuck to the back of the sheet. Its an old machinists trick.
Good luck.
