I started a couple of weeks ago on my DUKW w/105 howitzer. Everything was going along just fine until I shot it with a coat of primer. It was so humid around here that the paint took forever to dry. In the meantime I started on a Tamiya duece and a half and have to finish that before I get back to the DUKW.

Not as far as Shermies but getting there. Guess I'll stop for now, maybe dig up some free time in the week.
Well kilntime I didn't add all the goodies that you have in yours like the interior and engine compartment. Mine is straight OOTB. Basically it was slap the two halves of the wheels to the hull.

Shermies, looks alot better than just slapping some sides together, and I see some metal there also. Looking really good. Plan on sticking something in the back?
I don't know why I put that extra junk inside, you can never see it unless you have every hatch open, and they don't make the figures to explain that away. I'm fairly new in the resin market, hard fitting those pieces together.
Well good luck,
Bob

I am building a dio where the LVT is unlaoding a jeep into the sand. Right now I am preparing the base with pink foam to form the contours of the sand. Not sure if I'll do black sand like Iwo Jima or just plain old sand like other islands.
I don't know where you see metal as the Italeri kit is all plastic.

Hi everybody,
I'm ready to join now. I've just finished a BMD2 (or nearly completed in fact, waiting for the resin tracks) which could be a valuable entry for this campaign.
But I did announce I'll build a LVTP7A1 with scratchbuilt interior and I'll stick to this.
I gathered enough data now to begin this project. The hull has been opened (I use a former kit as a base) the external details stripped off. The tracks will be replaced by Friul ones.
I just hope to complete it before Hobby Fan release their announced resin set

Hi all,
here are the first pics of my scratchbuilt inetrior of the LVTP7A1.
The kit is the early Tamiya kit, the refs are from a defunct French modeling magazine, contributions from many of Big A members and others sites as well.
It is not perfect, of course, but a good starting point. Any comments welcome
BTW I'm still looking pics of the gunner seat and info about the way it is fixed in the turret.
To Martinn,
how can I load the pics directly into the campaign gallery ? I didn't manage to do this. The campaign is not listed in the scrolling list.

If someone else would ask this it would be up to me to decide but this time I'm the one asking....
I've got a half finished DUKW, in some subassemblies, still waiting for paint, stowage, canvas cover which I want to make myself etc etc. Would it be ok with you guys if I use this as 1 of my entries?
I don´t know, half-finished DUKW sounds suspect to me. Can we have time to confer? #:-) #:-) :-) :-)
My DUKW has just been posted also in the Rivet Review board. Can be seen in this thread ..Amphib Campaign; DUKW

Keep on the good job Olivier ! IMHO the gunner seat appears to slide along a "pole", just like the other individual seats of the driver and the troop commander . I have painstakingly ( ) indicated it with a white arrow in the picture below :

Hi Frenchy,
I got that picture too but I didn't find any clue of an attachment to the pole. AFV interior article just mentioned the pole was designed to link the floor to the turret ring but no indication of a seat attachment.
Anyway, thanks for your contribution.

Hi Martin and all!
First of all let me congratulate on your works!
Some impressive models!
But I am posting here because of the Gallery issue:
I checked the Gallery and all the users are allowed to upload pictures to the Amphibs Campaign Gallery...
I suggest:
Go directly to the Amphibs Gallery and then click on the "Upload Photos" button. This will post the pictures on the right place.
Or:
Move photos from your personal Gallery to the Amphibs Gallery (it's really there in the Campaign Gallery, it's the third from last).
If you select the pull down menu where it states "Member Galleries" and press T, it will change for "The Dark Room". Press the up arrow on your keyboard 3 times and you'll see "Amphibs"
Skipper
EDIT: If you'll go to the Amphibs Gallery there's already a pic there
Just trying to help since you are wweating your feet on my domain :-) :-) [jocking]

1st suggestion Nope, the picture just goes to members general gallery, I just tried it. If you go to the pull down list Amphibs is not listed. I also made sure I was in the Amphib gallery and clicked your test picture and from there I tried upload and it just went to member galleries, no pull down listing for amphibs. I went ahead and tried to upload a picture and I finall found it in Members gallery.
Nope choice always goes to default member galleries with no choice for amphibs.
I logged out and back in and still couldn't.
Sorry but I just can't get it to take a upload into that gallery.
Must just be me,
Bob

I cannot upload to Amphibs directly from within the Amphibs gallery. It just goes back to my personal gallery and doesn't show up in the Amphibs.
Also I cannot see any Amphibs in the pull downs. I went through each one line by line and saw no Amphibs option

Hi all, I am recovering from open heart surgery and am finally starting to feel human again. Thought getting back into modeling might help as well. I am going to construct the LVT-4 by Italeri for the campaign. It will be a straight build out of the box. I am interested in trying some advanced weathering techniques with this model.

Hi,
First of all, welcome aboard the campaign!
I was wondering what you mean with "advanced weathering techniques". The meaning of these words depends on the skills of the person who's saying it, but I'm not familiar with your skills so I don't know what advanced is for you
Anyway, it's always cool to see a LVT-4 which has just landed with sand on it's hull etc etc
Good luck!
Martin
The Campaign Gallery Problem should be over now, please try to upload again!
