Hi all!

I think we shouldn't take the word "Duel" too strictly. The idea behind that Campaign is to get two members to work together and to share a common experience.
So, as I said before, if the planes didn't shot at each other, it's not a problem. But they should have been rivals in a way or another! I won't allow a Duel between a Pearl Harbor Zero and a D-Day Spitfire for example. Nore would I allow a duel between the Red Baron and an Airbus A380! :-)

Hi all!

The fact that Wolpack finished the first entry for the "Duel" Campaign gives me the opportunity to update the participant table. Thanks a lot Ian for an excellent model of the "Augsburg Eagle"!

Those who started to build their models are colored red. Green will be the color for finished projects. So far only Wolfpack is green! Those who haven't started will remain in black.
I will also add a small picture of all finished entries progressively. It would be nice to post a profile picture of your completed model for this.
Underlined are the "Duels" wich have a thread started over in the Aircraft site. If the Sensei/Wolfpack and the Polarbear/Vanize threads could be moved to the Aircraft section, it would be nice. I prefer to see them there rather than in the Campaign pages. Please PM GunTruck for that guys. Thanks in advance!

Let's see if we can fill the table until the end of the year!

Originally we were going to do an F-5 vs F-102 duel, this then evolved into Mirage 2000 vs F-16D, which as you have mentioned have actually shot at each other. This finally evolved into F-4s facing each other as we both like the F-4.

Have i nice time modelling. I also like F-4. It is really a great aircraft. I have been inside it lot's of times. I live in Larisa the home of 110 battle wing so i see and hear them very often. If you build the greek try to paint it with the aniversary colors.!!!!!.

Hello Jean-Luc

as always outstanding work (an nice artwork -- which we must expect from an art teacher, I guess)

2 remarks:

1. Fred (JPTRR) wanted to join the Chalkin Gol/ Nomohan battle with the rework of his Ki 27 (I do not know if he still is in, but you granted it). Frank was tending to a Claude (A5M)

2. You forgot Rowan (I-16) and me (Fw 190 A-3) see thread "Duel: Polikarpov I-16 vs ??" by Rowan

many thanks

cheers

Steffen

Hi Steffen!

Being an Art Teatcher don't prevent me to do crap from time to time! :-)

I've edited the table. Why are you always involved when I do mistakes? Or maybe you are the only one to notice them!

I have made my move against the British (meaning DutchBird)! Just to let you know that I'm up for the fight! (Hope I have made enough progress for red color)

Hi Jean-Luc

I do not want to criticize, but give you a small hint on German Luftwaffe a/c designations during 1935-45, as you are not consistent in your graphic:

the designation consists of

Manufacturer abbreviation of 2 letters where the first letter is always a capital letter and the second always a lower case letter (exceptions breaking the rules, Blohm & Voss is not totally clear as they also used BV as designation)

Number for the "Flugzeugmuster" (a/c type) issued by Luftwaffe ... there was NO "-" (hyphen) between the manufacturer and the number

Letter for the "Baureihe" (typ series) was large and was issued for major changes in construction. the subseries was a number that was used with a hyphen

I won't go into further detail with "Rüstsätze" and "Umbausätze" as this is a mine field that has many pitfalls

so in short: FW 190, Fw-190, Fw 190 A8 = wrong -->Fw 190 A-8 correct

hope that makes sense ... got a "nice" reprimand by Karl Kössler (well known author and club member of IPMS D) once for doing that wrong .....

cheers

Steffen

The photos of the finished Bf 109 are at http://photos.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php?cat=16830
if anyone wants to view them.

I really enjoyed this campaign, my first by the way, it really gives you an incentive to get stuck in.

Thanks Jean-Luc

I would like to take part in the campaign. I have an academy MiG-21bis (actually an MF) I'd like to build. The only thing is that I would like to give it a very curious paintjob: I'd like to make it "Capeti", an airplane that played the "aggressor" in an airshow by the Hungarian airforce in'93. It was all-yellow with sharkteeth and gills.
Any enemies? (Hopefully I can finish it by December.)

Hi Andras!

I think you should also post your message at Aeroscale. You will have a wider audience there I think.
I will probably start an "Official Duel Campaign" thread over there too, as this one didn't get much attention since the site's plit.
