Thanks Ralph.
The fig with the straps looks like an octopus.. The straps are amade of foil sheet cuted on a bottle of wine. This guys will carry a lot of ammo, in the desert...muuummm
I wanted for a while to paint a shirt with perspiration mark. With this three guys I will have the opportunity to do it.
What I can tell you is that vignette will make you laught (at least I hope).
Best,
JULIEN

I'm doin a weird one. A captured French Hotchkiss re-painted by the Germans in desert yellow, then given to Israel after the war still in German paint!

I'm finishing up 4 other projects(ironically 2 are in OIF sand), but getting ready to start a Stuart 'Honey'. I am dying to do one of the schemes from the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, 7th armored Division. It is depicted in Lybia, May 1942, and will most likely do "BELLMAN". Although its not in a typical 'desert' scheme being tan and blue , do the Desert Rats count?

So I changed My entry a bit I managed to get my hands onto an AAVP-7 for $15!! So I built this one for the campaign. I built it straight from the box. with no suprises well except the decals were a little old and spilt at least into 5 bits each.

Hi All!

I´m mostly an aircraft builder, but once in a while I want to build a "ground target"!

This Campaign fitted perfectly for my next piece of armour, the Dragon M1A1 AIM Abrams in 1/35, so I have enlisted for this Campaign.

...and the paint scheme is gonna be.....Yellow!
What a SURPRISE :-) :-) :-)

Construction has begun and this is how far the build have come so far;

Chassis and wheels, lots of them!

Top deck mounted;

More pics coming soon!

Cheers!

At least you will only have to do 2/3rds of the track links

I need to find a halftrack used in the desert with AA guns by the British forces so I can hit 4 campaigns at once

I have started working on my Schweres Panzer abteilung 501 Tiger I early in Tunesia.

The hull is build up of many different parts and needs to be lengthed with smaller parts both at the front and end. Very strange way to construct it and necessitates great care to ensure everything lines up.

The turret has a partial interior and there is a (very) basic engine included. However, I plan on making my Tiger all closed up, so none of it will be visible.

Luckily the kit comes with all the desert modifications as standard which suits my purposes perfectly. Desert modifications are lowered headlights and special front fenders.
However, it would be impossible to build a Kursk Tiger straight from the box despite that is the only decal option included and is what is shown on the box.

howzit guys...
i'm building A leclerc for this campaign, but the scheme for the desert version is a two-toned hard edged pattern.
do you think that it will be okay to do this camo pattern?(because the theme is paint me yellow, will it be fine to have another colour in there?)

Here's my official entry.... Italeri's Kfz. 15 Horch staff car built basically OOB with your standard panzer grey base colour and interior. But....I tried the 'salt mask' technique to show a weathered and chipped overcoat of dark yellow. I used acrylics for both the base coat and the overcoat so the salt leeched into the dark yellow a bit, but I think it worked out okay. Nice little kit, fit really well.

thanks;
Bob

Yes. Because 1.) it's a desert version, 2.) it should have some kind of "yellow"/desert color to go together with that camo.

Thanks very much.... It was a fun (and quick) build. It all went together nicely. I think Italeri kits are very underated and should get 'better press'. They're certaily not a 3 in 1 smart kit, or a resin masterpiece, but in my experience, good for the value and build into accurate little gems.

Very nice looking Horch, Bob! I think the salt weathering came out looking excellent, frankly.

I'm changing my entry to my M1 AIM. I'm putting the little Honey in the best of the British campaign. I got about half way through the AIM and botched the wash so she needs an overhaul and I won't ever finish it without motivation like a campaign deadline.

Hi all

Here is a progress shot of my Tiger I early version. It now has had the first coat of sand. Next is painting and installing the running gear. Then on to the finer details.
