Well chaps we're officially up and running now! Looking forward to seeing some work soon. Lets see some WIP's as we go along as I sometimes think thats just as interesting as the end result. Also its an ideal opportunity to pick up advice etc.

I hadn't realised until recently that David Stirling was in Colditz as the Germans regarded him as a pain in the a**e as he kept trying to escape...LOL.

Originally I had planned on using Red Devils next to a Wespe or a Aufklarungspanzer 38 (t).
I have found out that the Aufklarungspanzer 38 (t) was only used on the Eastern front, so that puts a stop at placing it at Arnhem The discussion of the Aufklarungspanzer 38 (t) can be found HERE
The Wespe I am having second thoughts about as it would probably not be used close to the British paras fighting in Arnhem. So that is out as well.
That means that I have shifted to German Paras instead fighting on the Eastern front. I am planning to show the paras from the set below fighting against Russian panzers. I am going to place them close to a IS-2 in what will obviously be a snow covered diorama.
@Karl: I assume that this would qualify for the campaign as well??

I'm in. I got a 101 Paratrooper I need to dust off and get finished. Total re-work as he's seen better days. Pics to follow soon. Camera crapped out "Q"

Here is an update on my special forces build. The German paras are put together and the IS-2 has had the base colour and whitewash paint added. Also the IS-2 is supposed to be partly covered in snow simulating a knocked out tank that has been lying in no mans land for some time.
The layout of the scene is not completely determined yet, but the paras would definently be out in no mans land hunting Soviet panzers among previous victims of their activities.
Comments welcome

Not much happening in this tread the latest post was my in WiP post on the project that is now finished.
Below is my finished project with German Paratroopers on the Russian front. They are hunting Russian tanks in the snow. The team is an elite team of a Sergeant, LMG team and a panzerfaust shooter specialising in taking out or separating supporting infantry from the tank(s) and knocking out the tank(s) afterwards.
I tried a lot of new techniques on this small diorama. Not all of them turned out well, but now I have more experience for the next one. However, overall I am satisfied with the finished result.
Looking forward to see other projects. It was fun participating

Nice dio sgt! It shows exactly what you wanted to portray. I like the guy reloading his MP40!
How is everyone else doing?
I'm going to start mine in the summer hols. I'll use the Masterbox Paras retreating along a Dutch road. There will be a Tamiya Bren Carrier in a ditch below them...
Just thought I'd show I was still doing this!

Sounds like a cool diorama. Great to hear I am not the only one in this campaign I were beginning to wonder as I were the only one posting for almost a month

What is the progress for all the other participants in this campaign? This tread is very quiet
Could we please get a folder for finished entries? My entry has been finished for some time now, but there is nowhere to upload pictures of the finished project.
I PM'ed the campaign leader, but nothing has really happened.....

Gents sorry about the absence. My monitor went tits up and had some weird strobe effect going on. Mark thanks for setting up the gallery. I've made some progress...
This is my radio team part finished. I've finished various others and am now working on my bazooka team. Once I've got some heads for these I can start on the building. I'm going for a building and a knocked out Panther in Eindhoven. The building will have an MG42 crew surrendering. One thing I did notice with the DML antennae is it was too thick so I've used a bristle off my old SLR cleaning kits nylon brush . British kit may be crap but its useful for modelling

I join in with a Camionetta Desertica AS42. The vehichle and its crew belong to the Arditi Camionettisti of the Raggruppamento Sahariano that were in charge to contrast the SAS/LRDG activities.

Finally decided on the format now after a lot of thought! Its going to be called "Pinned Down" and will be a street corner in Eindhoven. (Need to get a few more bits for it yet though). Elements of the 101st have come into contact with a German MG position which will be engaged by a bazooka team from inside a ruined building. The rest of the point section will be sheltering behind an abandoned GermanAFV (either a Panther or Hetzer as I have both on the go at the moment). Reached bit of a standstill tonight as I've run out Hornet heads nd need some for my bazooka team.
This is one of the wounded....
Once I'm ready to place them I can do the finishing touches. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a great diorama, Karl
The figures look really good with a lot of nice detail. Where did you get the markings for the paras? It really adds a nice touch to the figures.

Thanks Jesper. The insignia are from Archers which I can't reccomend highly enough. They're superb to work with. I think I may finish off my radio op tonight as I need to stick the wires to the set and handset.

Thanks, I have heard about them, but never tried them. I will check them out and see if there are any for German troops or Panzer commanders.

I have built and primed my 1/35 101 airborne figures in Holland. It is more of a Bridge Too Far type scene than anything else. I used to build trains and planes. Figures and armor are a great new adventure.
I'm on summer vacation and I have a great 4 hour gap between work and the night to build and paint.

Well, I am done painting the troopers!!! I have built my Stug IV and the one man crew (dead). I will pose it stuck in a mucky bog burning while the troopers pass by. I should have it done in a few days.
