That's it. Thanks Jason I think late 2007 means after summer. At least I would think so. Like you said, you never know.

I have 3 questions ti.
1. What paint did you use?
2. How did you make the barb-wire on the front hull? Is it scratchbhuilt or did you buy it?
3. You said you were building the ATGM model. Is there a model of it already out?
Thank you for your time. Again, i keep coming back to check out the pics. Well done.

Thank you Jason. Do you know if there will be other variants out besides the ones announced by AFV Club?
Jason maybe you can answer this for me. On Charles Lav 3, the wrinch is romoved and put on the side of the hull. On the Stryker the wrinch is in front. Why is it different on the LAV 3 than stryker?

Thanks Marc. Glad you approve
Erik, I painted the LAV III using Tamiya Nato green spray can. The barb-wired is a PE set. I forgot which company.
As for what model I will be building next, it will be the ATGM Stryker variant. I will scratchbuilding the turret for this and I will use the Stryker from AFV Club instead of Trumpeter.

Erik,
The winch is still in the same place...the big drum behind the driver's hatch. What gets moved is the winch cable guide or fairlead. It can be moved from the front center of the hull to the left rear depending on how it is pulling or doing a self recovery...pretty ingenious.

Wonderful work. Impressive amount of modelling skills. Nothing else to say than congratulate you.
You really have to start using an airbrush buddy, just imagine how far you can go using one.
Best Regards

Thanks. Airbrush will be used sometime in the future when I get enough space. Right now I'm tight for space. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks Jesper. I appreciate the comment.
No it's not. Everything else is for exception of the radiator & air vents assembly.
Here is the asssembly that is different from the New Zealand variant:
The Canadian LAV III:

The New Zealand LAV III. The vents array is exactly the same as the US Stryker:

I hope I'm right. If not Jason will correct me

Here are some photos I took showing the LAV III in a more professional display. I know most would prefer I put it in some dio, but I am experimenting with different display bases. I may change, but for now this is what it looks like. Thanks to Sven for the inspiration :

I like this display. It really looks like a professional job. It would be nice to know how much a presentation like would cost. Any thoughts? Maybe someone else?

I like this display very much. The name tag with name is a very nice touch. Jason I think I would be ready to pay max 500 dollars. That's because, that's all I can afford

Well, it's all about the amount of time an individual spend on building the model. In this case, Charles has put alot of work into this build so I guess he is the only one who can determine the worth of it.

Nice presentation Charles. I see you took the rear stowage bin off. I recently took some measurements and more photos of the bin if you ever want to do one again, I'll send them out.

Thanks a lot. I do appreciate it. One of the other reasons for moving the bin, is I wanted to represent the Lavs in Afghanistan. They usually remove the bins for the guys to be able to use the two top hatches in the back for their weaponry. That's what I was told. I Will be adding a plank board between the two supports . I saw this in a pic I got off the net. BTW, if you have any more pics showing this please let me know. I'll like to add more details to it. Thank you kindly.

Charles,
Your LAV III can't be an Afghanistan deployed vehicle as it does not have the add-on armour package. The licence plates are also flipped around on the LAVs in AF.

Thank you Jason for the correction. What I meant to say was that I wanted it to represent one of the methods they had used in Afganistan by using a stretcher across the supports. I remember you told me that the vehicle did not represent it when I was in the process. So sorry for the misunderstanding. Friends?

So Jason, how does a LAV 3 looks like without the added then?? All these darn different types can drive a person insane.

I'm not Jason, nor could I play him on TV , but the main difference is there would be no add-on applique armour panels. SInce both the Trumpeter and AFV Club Stryker kits have it molded on to the hull, it will be very difficult to remove, pretty much would have to replace all the hull panels if you wanted to do a Canada-based unarmoured one. But if you want to make an uparmoured one as seen in Afghanistan, you would still have to add all the panels to the turret as well. Here's a couple pics that should show the difference:
