Well I just hit the YES button and posted the picture. Thing is I have more pictures to post. So here we go again.

A top view to showcase my camoflauge pattern. I have decided if this StuG was hiding in a field of Lava Lamps, it would be almost indetecable. But all that matters is that SWMBO likes it. She controls my hobby allowance.

Starboard side view. You really can see a lot through those top hatches. I also set up the front plate over the transmission so it can be removed. I thought the Zimmerit would prevent that.

When this thing gets its combat load, and some extra stuff on the back deck, it should look pretty good.

Once again, really, really nice kit. If you want to build a StuG III, this is the one. Even without all the extras I added, it will build out nice. The detail is probably better than the resin upgrades. When will DML start adding engines and transmissions to their tanks?

And just in case anybody cares, I hit a 39 for 9 holes.

I am still making progress.

I have the idler wheels, tracks, and weathering finished. All the tools are mounted. One skirt bracket mounted, two to go.

The mounting bracket for the side skirts will prevent the removal of the engine compartment cover. Good thing all the hatches can still be removed to show off the engine details. The fighting compartmet cover can still be removed.

Maybe one link to many on the right side. I will fix that later.

Can you smell the exhaust fumes yet?

The sag looks better on this side. I think I need to tone the decals down a little bit more.

Looks great, Carl. Really cool camouflage. Very nice that a lot of the interior golden heart can be seen through the hatches.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Jesper.

I will be finishing this one up today, or maybe tomorrow. I am thinking about stowage on the back deck and maybe some figures. I want stowage that won't hinder opening up the hatches. I would like to use some figures that would give purpose to open hatches, like fueling or maintanence. I am thinking about opening up the fuel filler hatch and leaving it open. I have a figure that might be modified into a fuel filling posture. I might put a case of cold beer on the back deck and make it into a catch a quick bite and upload type diorama.

I have another figure that would be perfect for radio watch while manning the MG, except he is too short. He would barely be able to see out the loaders hatch. not a chance of actually seeing over the MG shield. He might end up standing on a box. There is no chance of getting a commander figure into his hatch. The binocular scope takes up a lot of room in that very, very small hatch (I got stuck in one myself). Any figures need to be in summer/fall uniforms about 1942 or 1943. I gave the tank GD insignia.

Question for the experts. What uniforms did GD StuG crewman wear? The gray uniforms with red pipping or the Tanker Black with pink pipping?

I am going to call this one finished for me.

I didn't get any answers on my query regarding uniforms. I would still like to put a figure in it for the MOM.

There is less than a month to the end of this campaign.

We have to people who have completed this campaign. Myself, and SGTJKJ.

Carl, we are an exclusive club so far

Regarding uniforms, I cannot remember what uniforms GD used. However, I remember there is a picture of GD StuG IIIs having a parade where the uniforms should be easy to determine colourwise.
It is in one of the three Panzer colours books by Squadron/Signal - I believe it is volume 3. If you do not have this book I can check when I get home later today?

Let me know if you need me to check......

Carl, I got your message, and those pictures I posted are actually the finished product. After that I just added the antenna base which was missing, but didn't make much difference.

By the way the scheme was based on a Sd. kfz. 234/4 I liked very much, which was a new late war vehicle with a recycled PaK 40, there's no historical base for that.

We now have three completed entries, with two more getting close. I have had one request to extend the ending date. Does anybody else need extra time?

Well I finished my Trumpeter 1/16 scale T34/76 tank. This is my first campaign and that is only reason I finished this model. I would have worked on it for a while, put it away and started something else. So I like the campaign idea, not to say that I did not start anymore kits because I did. The kit was great I had tons of fun and never any tuff spots just followed the plans and it came together. I have lots of pics in the gallary so check them out.

Only two weeks till this campaign ends. Four enlistees have completed this campaign so far. They are:

When you complete, don't forget to post pics in the campaign folder. At least one photo has to show the interior or engine compartment.

Finally I finished the interior, but I also started working. I'm up at 5:30 and come home at 8PM... I think I'm going to need an extension

Any chance of getting this extended to the end of the year? I have a T-34/85 that I started for the campaign but there's no way I'll get it finished by the end of this month.

If the answer is yes, then I'll "officially" join and git er done. Otherwise it may be doomed to shelf-queen status for a while...

That makes three asking for an extension. It is fine with me, however, I will ask the powers that be to make sure..

Been nibbling away at this project and it is finally ready to paint. It is DML #6203 T-34/85 UTZ Model 1944 with Verlinden Interior, Lionroar PE, and eventually Friul tracks. Here are some "before" shots:

I had to leave off a couple items because otherwise I couldn't get the hull to fit together. If you decide to use this interior set be sure to test fit over and over!!!

Painting will commence in the next coupla days.

I found the best remedy for that. It is called a belt sander.

I agree. That is a fine looking AFV you have built.
