Great flamm hetzer, J. Mayer. Thanks for participating.
I am also using photobucket.com. It is excellent and has never failed so far for more than the 1000++ pictures I have uploaded. Contrary to other picture loading services on the net, the pictures on photobucket will keep showing even during maintenance of the site.

Christian and Jesper,
I signed up for photobucket, and we'll see if my pic load below! (I have found kitmaker to be not very user-freindly.)
Emre - hopefully this works, but thnks for the offer to put them up for me!

Ok, so here it is! The half-track and most of the figures are done! I'm still checking resources for the correct color of the flamethrower operators uniform, and some additional weathering will be done to blend everything into the groundwork.
The markings are for the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Div, 3rd Pioneer Co.

Cool looking Sdkfz 251/16! I hope mine in the stash will be as cool when I build it.
Did the flamethrowers actually dismounted from the vehicle? That's interesting.
If I remember right, the masks and protective clothing they put on were some kind of rubbery material, its color was dark gray-blackish. I have to check again though.

Thanks Emre!
Thanks for running this campaign! (It got me to pull this guy out of my stash) I just wish I could take better pictures...I think the model looks a lot better in real life.
To answer your question, I read that some of the 16s carried a spare flamethrower on the back. It was attached to an auxiliary (flame) fuel tank in the vehicle by a long hose. Which was only supposed to be used when the vehicle could not be maneuvered into the correct position to fire its main flamethrowers at the target. I think I read that on lonesentry.com, but I could be wrong.

Hi Steve
You are perfectly right. The early versions of the Sd.Kfz. had an extre flamethrower at the back. It was deleted on the later versions but is perfectly accurate for your vehicle.
The protective suits seems also to be made in some strange camo pattern. Looks like the Italian campo pattern that was also used for tank crew uniforms. Anyway, I would go for the blackgreyish colour if I were you. But if you feel like making camo there is a picture to back it up below.
Excellent job on the Sd.Kfz. The layout of the diorama looks very good.

Emre, here are some colour profiles and pictures you can use for your Flamm panzer. It seems like there is a wide range of styles for the numbers. Also note how the fenders has been reduced to bare metal due to the heat of the flames.

Thanks Jesper, these should really be helpful! Because of the visors in the turret, I think I might try spraying the numbers myself instead of using decals... Let's see what turns out.

Those are some great pictures! Both of the 251/16 and the flammpanzer! ...now I'm getting interested in making one of those too!

Steve, if by this comment you are meaning to build a Flammpanzer and not another fine 251/16, I seriously recommend you consider again. As far as I know, Alanger makes the only offering of a Flammpanzer II in plastic and as you can see it is not a very pleasant experience. If you say you are an über-dedicated modeller and will face the challenge no matter what, I wish you lots of luck and patience
251/16 is already included in my stash and will be a part of my 251 frenzy, which will be possibly in 2009, after my CPA exams.

Emre, good point! Maybe I will wait until Dragon or someone else releases a flamm panzer II. In the meantime I have my own "251 frenzy" to complete! (done: 251/1, 251/21, 251/16, 251/10. to do: 251/1/ night fighter, 251/17, 251/9, 251/1 mit waffensomething rockets) ...plus al the other campaigns. Thanks again for runnig this one!

I got a deal on a SKIF OT-130 in 1/72 scale today. Never heard of the company or the tank, but saw it was a flamethrower. The price was right so what the heck, I had to do it.
The detail is okay. It comes with PE too. The only real let down is the tracks. Decent detail, but they just look like a detailed rubber band.
Now I need to do a little research as WWII armor is not my forte. Especially Russian early war armor.

Attention everyone,
The extension ends in 2 days, after that I'll start awarding the ribbons. This is a general reminder for anyone trying to make a last-minute finish.
See you in 48 hours.

OK everyone, last day to submit. In 17 hours and 50 minutes the campaign will be concluded.
My replacement decals for my flammpanzer are late (as expected), so I am uploading it as it is. Wish I've built a Dragon Sdkfz 251/16 instead of this
So far, here are the members who have completed their flamethrowers, contact me if you don't see your name.

Almost 50% completion rate - that is pretty good.
It has been a joy to participate and to see all the great entries in the gallery. Looking forward to participate with you all in the next campaign.

Emre,
I've not completed my project for this campaign...close, but no cigar. New position at work has drowned me...barely keeping my head above water...look at my project every day (it's in a shoebox by my desk, just begging to be worked on)...but alas, that terrible nagging four letter word...WORK...has consumed all of my time. And you'd think, being at sea on a naval vessel there'd be time for it...yeah, that's what I get for thinking!
I'll post a few better late than never pics soon as I can...Thanks for honchoing a great campaign! Look forward to the next one!
Cheers!
Tim
