1⁄35Recycling Your Old Kits
Diorama
I once purchased a vacuformed master which allows to produce street segments from plaster. I used one of these segments as base and added a vacu formed fabric wall from REMI. A few words to these vacu’s. They are nothing to be afraid of and can be handled. It is important to strengthen the inside with sprues as the plastic is very soft. I used Evergreen material to represent window frames and to hide the areas where the two parts of the vacu join together. The top joints of the wall are covered with putty where I sparkled some brick parts in to make it look irregular and hide the joints. The area around the building is covered with debris of real bricks.
I used the same patina for the road as for the Stug to mingle the both.
Conclusion
- Karl - you are right, how could I ever doubt your words?
- It does not look that bad, as the inverse color scheme turned out nicely and you have to look twice to find out which kit is hidden.
- Although I had to ask myself very often about the sense of this project I enjoyed it and as I still have one of these Stug III’s left and another project is raising a Stug III from Panzerbrigarde 150.
