Hello friends
Here we show the diorama in which I am working now.
it is the mail Italeri, but I want to do in their natural environment, the sea.
and also in the process of placing the explosive head in the keel of a ship.
So far only built the torpedo and I'm phase of transforming the figures in the anti-aircraft Tamiya of divers in Italian.
This is slow and complicated, but the step very wel

Knowing Domi's work, and the sheer originality of it, I
*can't wait* to see what this diorama will end up looking like !!

On a sidenote thanks Italeri for issuing this fine little model, there's quite a cool number of very interesting projects with this particular model

Very interesting concept - my only fear would be, that the shiphull are going to cast a lot of shadow on the maiale.
Are you going to do it as a shadowbox to avoid doing any detailing over the water ?
It´s happy days for modellers...

I have thought about using an aquarium as a "scenario".
my intention is to create a seafloor, with sand, seaweed and even some fish, build the keel of the boat, which will be attached to the upper glass aquarium and under the keel to put Maialen, which is subject thanks to the cable that held his head explosive.
all panes of the aquarium will be painted with special artistic glass paintings, which are transparent and let them see through.
at the moment I have several paintings, I do tests and see which gives better results

Hi Domi.
Very interesting project.
Have you considered a shadow box, with the light source coming naturally from above.
With something like the clear preformed water sheets that are available ... it possibly could defuse the light source and look quite natural. can´t say im speaking from experience .. but therotically it sounds feesable???? It would also be a natural way to only have to scratch the hull of the boat.

Hello Frank
I note your idea.
I'm leaving for the last what would be the aquarium.
I am now with the figures, coming after the seabed etc etc.
when the time comes I hope I have taken
a decision, you know, it starts with an idea but as you work is changing

Holla Domi
Looking good and you have done a excellent figurine conversion!
Could I ask you to post it in
www.modelshipwrights.kitmaker.netThat's a good place for your post and you have more references (of the real SLC200 Maiale) and also a couple of dioramas of it.

Hello
Here you get some pictures of the figures practically completed and Maialen with the first layer of paint,
I have yet to give any more layer and then all the effects of dirt

Here you get a few advances.
the submarine with its crew nearly completed and a representation of the situation in cardboard boat in the aquarium.
Now I'm at the stage of building the boat, started with a few ribs in plastic to unite after the keel and that will be lined with plastic sheeting

Nice creativity and a great use of the kit. What is your plan for the extra space to the right and below the mini-sub?

Hello
because my intention is to recreate the seabed,
some rocks in the back, algae casualties in the frontal area and highest in the
rear.
maybe put an amphora and buried remains of some wooden boat sunk, but only a couple of ribs.
and if I am able to model some fish and place them among the marine vegetation.
all these are ideas, then everything can change

Well, here's mini submarine almost finished,
I will change hands of the first crew,
because a colleague told me that they are too thick and I think that is true.
I will now continue with the boat

Hola Domi
This is really something special you are creating!
About the hands, is it possible that they wore gloves? This would solve the size issue perhaps...
I'd be careful that you don't overly clutter the seafloor. It may look a little too contrived to have an amphora and partial wreck, but then again, it would be of significant interest to the viewer I suppose
If you could somehow manage to use diffused light filtering down from the surface, it would look stunning...

I would 'play' around with the bottom litter a bit and experiment some.
I see in the early posts it looks like the figures are going to be suspended by the cable they are securing. Is that correct? Have you tested this, the center of gravity and weight of the sub may cause some challenges.

Very good appreciation Slodder, I was thinking about it and to avoid surprises decided to change the hand of the figure who take the cable through this one, it will have more grip and I can move the submarine to focus
Also the cable is attached to flexibe and low weight of the model I hope to help me put it correctly

Thanks

Now start the construction of the boat.
currently assembling the skeleton, which will be lined by plastic sheeting where effected welds.
finally the front section leaving the building I see inside the compartment, many pipes, valves, machinery etc.

Good planning on the cable. The hand should do the trick.
Starting the ship looks good too.
