Hi there

Since I am trying to build a couple of VW T3 Luftwaffe service vehicles I would love to join the campaign. If it is only non-started kits then I have the option of working on Mercedes Wolf Gelandwagons in 1/24.

I have the squadron sign for Jagdgeschwader 73 (Fighter Wing 73) "Steinhoff" and a couple of photos of the VW's nuber plates and tactical signs.

One thing I am having trouble finding is confirmation of how number plates are configured and the meanings of the various tactical signs are for the Luftwaffe. Is there any good reference websites with good pics of Luftwaffe service vehicles?

All the very best

Hi there

How modern does modern mean? The VW's are 1980 and 1990's and the Wolfs are similar and I believe still may be used. Perhaps someone could confirm.

Hi Nige,

The Bundeswehr was established in November 1955 so I would assume anything after that time period would be acceptable

Jeff

Not sure what i am going to do yet. I have a few choices in the stash.

I've had a think about this one again - I think mine will be a kit bash Leopard 2A6EX.

Using the Hobby Boss and Tamiya kits.

Cheers

I don't know yet what to make.

A MAN 7ton Transport Truck
A TPZ 1 Fuchs
A Faun Franziska Tank Transporter
Or A Faun with the Fuchs on top of it.

I'll see.

You'll need a photo editing program. Photoshop or paint or something like it. Make a block of the size of the banner and give it a color. On the colored block you place the title like: Die Bundeswehr and below that you place campaign on Armorama. On the left and right side you place a picture of a German modern vehicle. When you have made several of these (with different pictures) you're ready and people can choose.

I am in. Great campaign.

I can help make some banners, but since my PC is out I will not be able to do it untill next week.
Hope this is early enough.

I have been looking into the info on the net and it seems the Bundeswehr still uses some of the SA-6 launchers. At least until 1995 when they participated in the ELITE AA exercises.

I will be building the Trumpeter SA-6 for this campaign. That will be a nice change for all the Leopard that will undoubtedly turn up for this campaign.

Looking forward to get started when the campaign gets underway.

I would like to do the AFV Club M41 German version. But I am not buying any new kits right now so its out.

I have a bunch of Leopards but I think I might do something different for this one.

Maybe this.......

Its been in the stash for a while and this might be a good reason to build it.
It was given to me by one our members Darryl (DT61)

It would be neat to see it lifting something. Looks like a bit of challenging kit.

Oh, ok. Now I don't have to wait long.

But what does this mean: but an award will only be given for one piece?

Rockfall:
Super kits are those. I have the US version in my stash and those are very detailed.

I think I'm gonna start with my Fuchs and end with the tank transporter.

It means you can enter as many models as you like. However you will just get one ribbon for completing the campaign. The ribbons go into your profile and appear in the upper right hand side under awards.

My first try in a campaign. It will be either a PzH2000 or a Unimog.

Obtw: During it's early years the BW used some funny stuff:

+M16 Halftrack AA
+Bren Carriers
+M39 Spz
+M42 Duster
+M7 Priest
+M44,M52,M55 SpH
+M74 Recovery Tank

And numerous "one of" vehicles that got a Y-Lizence plate making them official BW vehicles including Centurions, Ferrets, BMP, T72 and a few Panzer V

Is the Leopard 2A6 EX eligible for this Campaign ?

I haven't seen any of these on German maneuvers etc, however there ARE pictures of this beast in Bundeswehr colors and unit markings.

Is it actually in service with the German Armored Forces ?

I am in too.. not sure what to build yet, but the Bundeswehr has used sooo many vehicles that it shouldn't be a problem.

Perhaps one of the old Tamiya Leopard 1's or Marders

Unfortunately there are currently no A6EX on German duties.

It exists only one vehicle with the Bundeswehr-markings, and this one is only a presentation vehicle designed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann for the EXport.
