Dear All

Here is my Stryker Wip Pro Art Model kit, I would like to thanks Dirk to send me the kit. And it is a nice kit overall the resin parts are a good addition despite the fact that some are bended and the very small part are broken.
You need to build a jig for the slat panel. I also gonna use the voyager update kit and really you need to stay away from it, very bad instruction set wrong numbering and so one.

Additional armor
This is the first part of the slat it is in resin, I will had the baskets from Voyager.
Not very difficult on the right side you need to take care of the addition armor in PE and respect the correct dimension, The tow bar attachment is from Voyager.

for the left side no big issue

Top view

You can see the winch from Voyager and there is already some dimensional issue.

Please comments welcome and stay tune
Cheers

I'll follow this thread closely, too, as I've still not decided on one of the available Slat-Armor sets.

Keep us updated!

Well
thinks are going smoothly these days
almost finish, just fighting with the baskets, they keep dropping from the hull , maybe thinking to make copy of them in resins with my own storage inside, crazy idea
I did notice an error on the AFV instruction concerning the RWS and Thanks to Pierric nice work with his Stryker.
Here is the remark, i didnot find any instruction to glue the remaining transparent part J5 onto the RWS, but it seems that it belong to the RWS.
Well now THE question shall I paint the vehicule before the slat or all together?
Well the tools need to be painted before for such as well as the lights for example? Any advice will be really welcome.

Well here are the pictures:

And Now the problems start

The front panel didnot survive the trip back to Mexico from the US that's why it is not really square I will try some surgery later.

Same doom with the lateral panel arrive in very very bad shape:

But with the brand new panels not destroy, they look good:

They are coming nicely 30 min for each panel so it is very quick build
Stay tune

Thanks Calvin
I'd like to see it perfectly square if not it will be a lot of trimming to get the complete slat attached to the hull.
Thanks for your comments

Calvin
For what i reminber, the lower part of the slat are generally bended not the complete frame like I have especially on the upper part of the slat and on the front like I have now , this is too much bended and unreal.

Painting question to All
Shall I paint the hull and all the details first with AB or Paint Can ??
And then paint the slat by hand ??
What will be your recommendation ???
I hope to hear your comments on this point.

Hey Seb,
I am working on my Stryker with the Eduard Slat set. I think your panels look ok. They are a little out of square but its not a bad look. I have yet to figure how I am going to build up my panels. I think I will construct a small jig and go to it.

As far as paint, this is what I plan on doing. I am going to finish the kit up to the slat panels. Those I am leaving off. I am going to paint everything up and do some minor weathering on the small stuff that will be hard to get to after slat is on. I will have the slat built up like you are doing and will AB it at the same time as the vehicle. After everything is set, I plan on attaching the slat. Hope that helps.

Thanks Cory
Well these panels were totally destroyed in my luggage and I will do some minor change to square it up.
Concerning the painting well the instruction of the PAM set doesnot allow you to build the support free of slat, meaning that you need to assemble the complete slat as shown in the previous picture and then attache the support to the hull and trim the slat onto them.
So here is the requirement for the build making the painting job quite difficult.

thanks for looking and good luck with your build

Oh..... well......that does make things a little different. From looking at the Eduard set I believe you can hang panels on the supports after the supports are all attached. I am looking forward to continuing on this kit, but there is a lot to do.
