nice job Jon!!! I was wondering if anyone else was crazy enough to leaf a tree like that. I did one of hedgerows with masterbox paratroopers. Took forever and I still don't see straight. Am doing another right now for a Korean dio. Looks real good. Better than most I see.

Hi Jon,
Simply Amazing! The realism is fantastic! Keep up the great work and don't get burned out, I know that feeling!

hello everyone,
thought I'd drop some quick updates on this now ancient thread.
I am still in the throes of the odd burnout, so I've done some work on a Tiger to keep my mind occupied. Something like this diorama takes up a lot of time with little visible progress, it's not until weeks after you start detailing a hedge that it really gets any "depth" and I can say I'm happy with it.
so enough of my moaning, here are some pictures for those who like to see the fruits of my tweezer picking hours.
sorry I can't offer an "Overall" view however this dio has some surprises I want to keep under my hat until the nationals in Telford this november where I hope to enter it.
Thank you for looking
Jon

Very nice Jon! One of the most convincing hedgerows I have seen in miniature. Well done!

Hi Jon,
I'm so glad Eugene posted his query! It made me aware of your fantastic job on that terrain! The thread was started long before I joined the forum, so I didn't know anything about it!!
So I'm joining in with the other gentlemen and ask:
what about your great project???? Any progress to show us????
Cheers

Big John, finished this one up and it turned out a treat. Haven't seen him around the forums for a long time nor communicated with him since before his marriage, so I can't say what he's up to at the moment. He was doing blogs under Scale Model Medic on Youtube at one point.
Cheers

Hi Romain,
Jon seems ton be devoting his time to You Tube videos of 'How To' and doing some promotional work for Humbrol paints and washes.
Cheers

Big Jon is a highly talented dio builder surely!!
He may be forgiven his lapse (forgetting his own thread..!?!??!!!) as he is promoting Humbrol products (enamels hopefully !)

I felt my ears burning and now here I am! Alan, great to see you around mate hope you're doing OK!
Thanks for your comments on this diorama guys. I did indeed finish the diorama as Al showed. I entered it into the ipms nationals at Telford in oooh I think it was 2010 and picked up a silver for it.
That was pretty much the last time I went to that level of detail on a model! Ever since then I have pretty much focused everything on video work and have given back as much to the modelling community as possible.
Sadly as soon as I turn back up I'm likely to disappear again! Me and the wife have our first baby due in January, so a new modeller will begin years of training

Big Jon,
This is awesome work man and I wish you would at least try to stick around. I know hings can get tough with a new tiny human around but can't you spare a few moments here and there?

Thanks mate. Sure I will try to make it on here a bit. I tend to do all my modelling on camera these days though so I don't have work in progress photos but rather videos!

A silly beginners question, but how did you do the earth and mud? What did you use because it looks incredibly good, extremely realistic! And what did you use for the hedges?
I think your diorama looks brilliant!

Hi Jon,
Congratulations on the first born. Boy or girl? Glad to hear all is well.
I'm still plugging away as usual and learning as I go.
Best regards to all the family. Nice to see you drop in.
Cheers
