All you need now is the broken bottles, coke tins, and Tesco carrier bag and it will be spot on, at least that is what you see in most hedges around here.

hi everyone

thanks for all the great comments. I had a little break from this due to feeling a little burnt out, but now I got back to it and all but finished that one hedge.

Couldn't resist plonking the sherman down for a few test shots please note that this is NOT the final position of the sherman, and I wasn't going to risk pressing it down into the model so please: no need to point out that the sherman looks a little out of place

enough of my ramblings! here are my offerings, comments and suggestions welcome!

thanks
Jon

I think your ground work and bushes are fantastic! I,ve done some small bushes and vines myself, and I know there's alot of hard work involved. Your work is inspiring for me! Keep up the good work.

Hey Jonno
Simply brilliant mate.
One thing I nknow not if you've rectified yet; are you adding towing shackles to the front clevices?
I like the dough. Considering close infantry/tank battalion cooperation was needed to negotiate the bocage region he is quite fitting...
Who makes the figure?

thanks Brad

yeah I'm adding the shackles from a DML kit spares as I snapped all my Tasca ones

the figure's a Nemrod offering and is a lovely piece! really made me realise why people like resin so much!

He will be badged up as from the 29th Infantry Division who worked with the 747th Tank Batallion around 12th July in the St. Lo sector, so the tank, infantry and setting are all tied together by solid history. If you look at previous pics of the sherman you can see it's 747TB markings.

cheers mate

Hi Jon,

beautiful work this is. I really like the vegetation and the mud, very realisticly created.

A question though... Are you having only one figure in your dio? I guess it is nice to add another one as this may suggest even more that numerous infantry men are walking behind the tank. The single figure is maybe a bit to solitaire.

Hi Jelger

thanks for your comments

there will indeed be more than just the one guy running behind the tank. I have another Nemrod figure on the shelf, and plans for maybe one more to purchase in future. The thing is though, this guy is the only one stuck together and painted

also - he is not stuck to the diorama but a piece of plastic for a base, I just photoshopped it out for the sake of preview images.

cheers

Hi Jon, well done!

I am looking forward to get a picture with neutral background to better appreciate the look of your dio.

The vegetation is awesome. I would love to see a feature on how you did it. Will you post a closeup of the figure as well?

thank you all very kindly guys your words are really appreciated. I am glad that work on this model has had such a good reception with the crowd!

Sorry that more of the diorama is not visible in the pictures, however there is a secret or two to be revealed and I don't want to jump the gun !!!

unfortunately work on this diorama is going to have to stop for a while whilst I move house. This is the second time in 6 months I have had to do this, so hopefully me and the mrs can settle a little more once that's out the way, and this dio will get finished in time for this year's IPMS scalemodelworld show.

Good luck with the move Jon let's hope that your dio doesn't get damaged in transit that would be a tragedy for us all who hope to see it fully finished
