Nice pair of cats Ralph,
I like the Jagdtiger, which kit is it and is the interior included?
Darren the part you refering to is the over flow tube to the fuel tanks.I'm not sure if the Porsche had them, I'll hit the books and let you know.
Keep us posted Ralph.

That is a fuel vent line. It allowed excess air to run out of the fueltanks.
These were first fitted in a shorter version, and later, this longer version at the rear and smaller ones at the forward grills were fitted.

Ralph,
your Tiger-B looks great! It really inspires me to get going with mine again!
One thing, late Tiger-Bs had additional mounting plates for the Schürzen. One was fitted behind the one at the front, over the weld. Another one was added behind the aftmost full plate.
Other than that, it fully matches Tiger-Bs as they were delivered at the end. Your choice with the trackhangers is accurate, as the single link tracks were also seen with turrets with the 2 x 2 sets of hangers, instead of 2 x 3.
The AA-ring fitted is also correct, pics of the Henschel plant show turrets both with and without the ring on the production line.

Hey,
thanks for your comments.
as already mentioned, the object in the red ring are the fuel vent line. If this lines were vivisble at a Porsche turret version, I can`t say. Have to look in the books first
The Jagdtiger is the Dragon late kit with the interior from Verlinden.
Glad to see that you like them.

The transition from the initial turret to the simplified version happened in June 1944 while the vent lines were introduced in October 1944 as a result of decreased fuel line connections to counter the fuel leaks. In order to vent the 7 fuel tanks, the vent lines were introduced.
So, no vent lines were used before the simplified turret was introduced.

Wow! Great builds so far. Are these going into a diorama together?
I'm really anxious to see how the interior of the jagdtiger progresses.
Semper Fi!

Hey thanks.
No. They won`t be together in a diorama.
The Jagdtiger will be in a diorama something like that:
And with the Tiger II something like that:
But without the figures...
I`m planing an abandoned vehicle with some civilians. "Kassel, summer 1945" could be the title.

At the risk of suffering Ackermans wrath, I think that late tiger 2's had a rain shield above the gun sight on the turret. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for your comments.
The rain shield above the gun sight is mounted, as you can see on the painted tiger.
By the way, I see you play a Gibson SG!
I got two of them. I`m a real SG-Freak!
Maybe we can talk about it but not in this forum ...
Cheers

Hi Ralph ..both the KT and JT are looking great ...Keep up the good work ..One thing I did notice about your base though ...You've got a building with the front wall that clearly shows that the wall continued further because of the brick damage( Looks like row houses to me )but a park fence built almost next to the building...This just doesn't work for me ...I'd either straighten up the corner of your building or remove the park fence and add debris instead ..
Just remeber this is only my opinion and looks really nice ,it just stuck out to me and thought I should mention it ...
Great job so far
Rick
