Darren...do you really think that this model could be elegible for a building feature?!
Many thanks for this thought! It's more than a compliment!
When I'll finish it and if it will be a good model I'll try to submiti the thing.
My warmest regards

You should be proud of yourself Ciro. The work you have put into that T-55 is phenominal. I know for certain that i will never make something as detailed and perfect as your T-55 in my entire life (which may be caused by my total lack of patience, but anyway). If you continue with this level of detail when you get to painting this build, i have no doubt that you could easily win any kit making competition there ever was with it.

Good luck with the rest of the build mate

And by the way, i think that the first photo of the metal strip on the gun mount looks better.

Dean....first of all many thanks for your kind words...but I don't think that my 55 is so good as you say. There are many modeller that I'm sure can do it better...anyway I'll try to do my best!!...I don't think that you aren't able to do a thing like this...if you work slowly you sure can,If you need some suggestions let me know, maybe I can help you.
Now....some update....this and that....

Nothing of special....boxes,stretcher...ecc ecc

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that is phenominal work Ciro. And thanks mate. I may eventually get to making kits as well as you have made this one, but it will take a while for me to not only develop the patience to do such fine and fiddly work, but get off thise medicinal drugs i'm taking that make my hands shake like a wet spaniel. One good thing about the meds is that i can dry brush like nothing on earth. lol

Jesper and Dean....thanks again for yours replies...I'll try to do my best!I hope to complete the model for the end of this year and to start the painting in 2009....
This is another turret for 55.It's a panzershop conversion that in origin works to backdate 55 in 54b..I've update it to the level of T55.....

And a stretcher....what do you think?!is it credible?!

Warmest Regards

Your work is awesome. The stretcher looks good however maybe a bit rigid. A few bends and folds/ripples in the canvas would make it look more crediable. Great Kit

Thomo....I think you're right!!!
I must admit that it was only the first attempt to scrachtbuild it,I think it not so bad but I'm also sure that I can improve it.
I'll try to follow your suggestions.....in this week I'll post some update.
Regards and thanks for suggestions.

Aren't those stretchers made out of canvas? (the real ones i mean). If so, don't put too many folds in it because canvas is really stiff compared to most other material. Canvas is also a lot heavier than normal cloth. And it hurts a lot more than normal cloth when you get whacked over the head with it. (my art teacher wasn't very nice).

I honestly would have made the concave areas of the stretcher a chade darker (as in, a tiny shade darker), or give it a very light dry brush. Its still one of the best looking stretchers i've seen in a while mate. Good job.

Amazing work Ciro !!
I have a T-55 with 3 tons of PE sets... it won't look half as good as your superb T-55!!
Where did you got your references for the turret detail and fuel connectors ? books and/or websites?

I will start my 55 next year.. still waiting for some MK tracks and some PE for the MAZ transporter...

Great work...can't wait to see it painted...

Hi Martyn and John, thanks for your comments....probably I'll add a crew or some figures around or on the tank...not sure by now.
John,.....I'm trying to detail the 55 using some books...but I've also tons of photos!!!It's a famous tank so google is full of it.For some point of view it's too full and you could lost yourself in the infinite variants and versions or nomenclatures.
I would to depict a standard russian T-55 used by the afghans.

Firstly, i reckon you made the right decision with the metal brackets on either side of the gun mount (you asked our opinion of it in a previous post). They look better and more realistic undamaged. Secondly, is it just me, or has your stretcher changed colour dramatically? It looks so much lighter when on the tank than in the photos you posted of it. And thirdly, is that an undercoat of paint, or is that the comour the tank will be?

Hi Dean...
Thanks for comment obout the metal brackets, what you see here is my second turret, that is a panzershop conversion. It's a good one.I'll complete also the other and original turret.
Stretcher has the same colour of the previous post,,probably the light effect makes it different.
The colour that you see on the tank is a undercoat paint,I use it cause it allows me to see imperfections, tamiya original kit has a dark green colour that sometimes can mask some errors and in my opinion it don't help you in a good construction

Thanks for your comments and...have a nice day!!

Hi Ciro

I still think your stretcher looks to rigid, while they are made of canvas the lossen up with time ans wear and tear. I really do like the canvas cover with the loop holes. Awesome job. Have an excellent Xmas.

I like the cover with the holes. That blue stripe is very nicely painted.
