Hi all.....It's long time that I don't post here...I've tried to do some experiments on 55 turret that I hope help me in the upcoming afghan 55 painting....
What do you think?!
A and C are the various shades of lightening that I depict following....more or less....color modulation by Adam Wilder....
B is a 55 turret painted and then depicted on it the undercoat primer (red)applied with a sponge

Opinions and comments are welcome

YAY!! Hes finally posted something after such a long wait!!

About the turrets, I think that the finish on turret C looks better then the others. It seems to show the shape and textures on the turret better than the other two. It also looks more realistic than A and B.

Great progress on the whole project Ciro !

The turret is a little too bright (green) you need to tone that one down a fair bit in my opinion.

Wow, the green looks funky, lol. I still think that turret C in your previous post looks the best Ciro.

here we go again...
I've complete the basic paintjob...I was inspired by a Northern Alliance Tank,2001.
I've seen this tank on youtube.More or less well manteined and relatively fresh repainted.
Now I need ti start the weathering stage that will be long.
Comments are welcome as always

Regards
Ciro

Yeah, that's mine. I just got my antenna's from JBmodel, so I can place them on the Bradley tonight. The antenna's will be painted, a little bit more dust and more variation in it and ofcourse some root from the exhaust and it's finished. I think I'll place some photo's of it this sunday (including ones from the T-80U) diorama.

Ciro,
you are too hard on yourself my friend.

I know you respect Andy's work as much as I do - but it doesn't diminish this fine work!

I have got to push a T-55 to the top of the "to-do" list! Looking at your T-55 is just the inspiration I need.

Great stuff!Nice looking rust...I can almost smell it.
Rusty T55...yummy!

One thing looks strange: too much dust on the two back engine traps.Anyway the dust looks very realistic.

Thomas thank you!!!!

Paul....you're right about the dust but it's still a wip.I work on little area to have a better control of the weathering process,so,up to now,I've weathered the two engine hatches...later I'll weather the surrounding areas...
You can see that the turret has no dust....only some washes...
It will be a long weathering process...
Thanks however for comments....much appreciate :-)

Ciro-
Compare the engine hatches, to the stowage box and fender section forward of the engine exhaust.

The engine hatches are weathered- but the camouflage colors are still visible. On the stowage box and fender area the camouflage is really subdued, maybe lost?

Either way will look good- but IMHO- it would be a shame to completely cover that camo paint job.

Great progress man!

Excellent work Ciro - As usual. I do have a couple of suggestions.

1.) Shorten the 3 spare track links to 2. Paint over the camo on the RHS where the storage box was - and leave the squared off (masked) section for where it USED to be.

2.) the 1st roadwheel station on T55 and T62 have a larger hub (by approx 1.2mm) this is getting nit picky , but with all the other fine details you have added its an important one.

3.) Add the coax mg

Keep up the great work!!!

Chris
