That would be intersting, which modeling-surprises you have for us ... and me too.
I´m looking forward to have your book in my hands!

Oh guys, this slowly starts to be a frightening experience for me.
Will i satisfy evryone who has spend the money to get the book?
Can i still show me here after next Monday?
Well, for those also doubting what is in there, (apart the sample pics), i will send a review sample to Armorama and you can decide with full knowledge after it is published.
But who knows, perhaps my stock of books has sold out until then! LOL
Have a nice weekend, i will be occupied to reception the book and show Lazlo our country.
Yes, he is bringing them all across Europe, so thanks to him one more.

Here is one picture of the painted and planted hill under the wall.
When I scrolled through to find where I had left off last time I thought this was a reference pic until I read what you wrote with it...
Need I say more?!? Keep it coming!

Ok everyone, i am a bit in a modeling stress lately with the book (did you know that you can buy a book about the construction of the castle on my website ) , the website and actually finishing the third module.
Besides the most work is done for now in painting and wheatering , difficult to show on pictures.
I think i have one interesting update for you on this sunday
The cart is completely scratchbuild. The horse is a mix of the Ardenneshorse of the old Tamiya Fieldkitchen Set and one of the newer Dragon sets. I scrapped away all the plastic hair and replaced it with hair from a rabbit pelt. It's uncolored.
The man is from the Masterbox set , replaced with a resin head (probably a MK35).
The firs in the background are scratched also with Aspargus.
So i hope you like this new update.

Thanks Alan,
Before anyone is pointing to the strange color of the horse :-), let me show you my original.
Ardennes.horses have a lot of colors.combinataions, so virtually everything is possible.

Claude,
The horse is perfect (including color). Take him these hairy boots of though or his feet may sweat like hell Just kidding. It looks absolutely great.
BTW: what colors you usually use for rocks painting?

Thanks Andrzej
For the rocks i use acrylics, or did you mean what colour?
Well, grey's of course, Tamiya's RLM Grey for example, other grey's with hint's of sea blue, Royal Blue, or even ockers colors.
Light parts started with Light grey, Deck Tan's.
Darker parts can start with German grey, etc, no rule..
Cheers

In other words: I have to try untill I find color that fits . Thanks for a tip! I really like the look of your rocks.
I myself use mostly enemels so I will have to make some trials with the palette.
Can't wait to see more of your diorama.

Andrzej
That's how i work! Look at the palette and decide for the colour. I can not tell you exactly what i used.
As i wrote somewhere , i am using the wet in wet method. I am applying the colors next to each other and , with a fresh , slightly damped brush, mix the border parts, getting a nice transition with his own color.
If i don't like it, i simply repaint.
Every color gets his own wash different in color also.
Hope it helps somewhat

Hi everyone,
@Andrzej, i forgot to tell you, that of cours my color palette was aimed to replicate colored slate, blue greyish stone with rusty red and a lot of other variations. So should first define the rock you want to model before staring the paint.
@Peter, Simon, Martyn, Jean Bernard
Thanks a lot, it's indeed a bit special and i wondered if i was not crossing over to much to the "toy" side. I hope it will not rain when i transport the dio into an expo hall, the horse will really look like , well, a wet horse then. LOL
Ok, time to show some more, it will be revealed anyway in 10 days during my expo.
The proud owner( for those not yet seeing me, that's me, and i am wearing an old tracksuit just used for cellar work anymore. Some good german modeling friends teased me because of this apparently old fashioned suit, so i am going to the offensive immediately here )
I showed the combined diorama to Lázló when he brought the books ten days ago.
Cheers

Thanks! I was thinking about this exact type of rock. I have no problems with i.e. sandstone which is quite easy to paint.
Seeing whole diorama with you as size reference is stunning experience...

I received my copy of the book yesterday - just under a week from Luxembourg to Melbourne, Australia - not bad! And the price Claude pays for postage is the price you pay
I've only had a quick cursory look through the book, but my first impressions are great
Thanks Claude!

Hi everyone,
Two days before the expo in Luxembourg, i finally put in place the figures (the few i have for now)
The jeep is the once positionned right in front of the gate. It's not fixed here, but this will certainly be his place on the dio.
In the next months i will hopefully add a half dozen figures to the scene. I need a bit of figure painting training.
Hope you like.
Before i forget it, there are only some books left, so hurry to order
