WOW, I always enjoy viewing your pictures!
Truly amazing work, Claude!
I like these fine details and "small stories" inside; for example the vehicle with the destroyed roof by a fallen tree-branch, or the cow and the horse-cart... and some more, which I found in your book.
greetings...

Thank you guys,
Glad you like it.
Well , having after such an update only 3 responses, i have the strong feeling that the board has an overdose of Clervaux and needs a longer break.

Hi Claude
I would say that they are still in awe, as I am at the scale of thing. The figures and vehicles look excellent. Thanks for this update.
Its just awesome.

I love the old guy holding his hat down in the jeep. Your trees are stunning. This is a truly great dio, not only the size of it but the tiny details that fill every area.

Hi Claude,
When you're looking at the small detail it's easy to forget just how big this scene is.
Brillient addition to the orignal build, the detail is excellent and the buildings and scenery look terrific.
Really super work, a real labour of love and it shines through in every detail.
I never tire of looking at the pics, you see something new each time.
Cheers

@Gart, Alan, J-B, thank you guys!
As i announced, the build is not finished.
Home from my expo, i took advantage of the bigger space in my garage to plan already for the next part(s).
At last, the buildings i build years ago, (Hotel and Café),
will now find a place in module No.4. I made No.5 also and the first impression of what is to come is this here
I am about to get some new reference pics, maybe i will change the planned layout a bit and include one more building in the row..
Did you notice that i destroyed a part again on the last module. This was to fit the new height requirements of Mod. 4.
The best thing, if i will change the layout of No.4 as mentionned, the destruction was not necessary at all! Well done Claude!
The story continues!
Claude
PS.: For those interested in the States, my book finally arrived at Monroeperdue.(my reseller)
But, the package was damaged and half of the books got stolen!
So if you waited for the arrival, don't wait to long to get it, otherwise you will need to wait again for restocking.

As usual, stunning work.
You said that some of those buildings you did a long time ago, and that got me wondering: Is there a noticeable difference as your skills progress? I know that with my dioramas, the first figures that I paint end up looking decidedly inferior to some of the last ones. Is this a problem that you get, as well, with such a huge project?

Scott,
There are not a lot of differences actually.
I made those buildings after the start of the castle project and as i saw that i did not have enough experience for that.
So i experimented on materials first.
The Hotel is plaster , the Garage is artist foam board and the Café is base on wood.
From there on i discarded the plaster method as to heavy and fragil.
The roof method is still the same.
Only the window glazing has changed, at least after i needed broken windows. At first i used normal clear plastic sheet, not really suitable for broken glass.
So i was in fact really fast up to this level and did not need to change much since then.
That was probably the reason why i did stay with architectural modelbuilding sice then. It works for me.
For Figure painting i had of course my learning curve as everybody else, unfortunartely i am not doing enough figures to go one step further. Idem for vehicles. There i need to get really better soon.
Cheers

It is absolutely stunning, words just do not do this project any form of justice one day I really do need to see this live
keep up the good work,I love being able to drop into these threads and spend a few hours catching up on the progress

Thank you guys,
I hope i can get the motivation going again soon, as i got inofficial news from the mayor of Clervaux that they are not really interested in the model! Go figure!
My motivation needs to be based on other grounds then.
Regarding the avalaibility of the book i would like to point to 11 resellers throughout the world who sell it. Myself am sending in Europe for 4 Euros and over the rest of the world for 6,50 Euros.
Thanks for looking

Hi Claude! . Sorry havn't been around for a wile or had a proper look at the site for a wile and your blog! I've missed alot, I am just amazed at what you have achieved! I am going to purchase your book once I have some funds in my bank account (it's not all fun being a student! ). . When you eventually finish the diorama, any plans to try something a little smaller?
Jaymes.

James,
Thank you very much
I probably should arrange for a student discount, but that should be difficult to put in place but i tried to keep the price of the book low from the beginning.
I have one-two little dio's in mind to make after this one, but that is really far off.
I am sure , if i only raised my hand, that i would get another mega project to build.
There is a brewery museum in Luxembourg who wants to build the brewery in scale in a WW2 liberation scene, with museum style displaying of interiors on the push of a button.
They talked to me during the expo and would certainly be pleased if i would build it.
As they are not ready to proceed and i am not finished, this is lying on ice, but could get interesting soon.
As the autorities of Clervaux are still not very enthousiastic to take the actual dio, i may switch at any time.
Thanks
Claude
