The directions with that set are really bad, but I've been following a 1/35 build that I found here on Armorama (Thanks!)_ I plan to add some small springs for the radio.

Hello Greg
I know I am a bit selfish here, but could you please start a build log or add this sstuff to your Hummer-Dio thread so that I can easily find this again when I am building my model (or maybe you already have a build thread elsewhere?
thanks in any way, if not possible I can at least save the pix from this thread...

Hi - no worries,
here's the very helpful 1/35 build log from Armorama I've been following:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/143197&page=1
and I've been doing a build log on Track48.com - under 'the assembly line'

I apologize if I'm doing too many posts but I feel I'm on a roll!
(A couple nights resting with the flu). Just need to cut plastic for the front windows, the radio handsets, doors, and then the turret.
All assembled with Purple crazy glue for longer working times, and Loc-tite crazy glue for quick sticks.
dang - I think I see an antenna I goofed in the wrong spot

Greg
I have a few more questions ...
1. I wanted to take the M998 as donor kit. I had the impression that the conversion included all I would need. Well, I guess i can copy or scratchbuild the the standing plate for the gunner, but is there more I would need from the armor carrier version?
2. I guess the figures are PK stuff, but what about the cargo in the back?
all the best
Steffen
P.S. I bookmarked the threads you quoted

1. The Tamiya m998 should be fine I think for the conversion except the part you mentioned (I don't own it)
2. The dark grey resin is from BlackDog & white is PK

Finally started building on the Academy M998 kit. So far
General
This is an older kit (Instruction reads 1995, some sprues 1993) and it shows. Quite a bit of flash on the seams and more than a few knockout marks, some of the visible. The sprues are thicker than on modern kits making separating parts tricky
The kit is a match and mix with quite a few parts for the spares bin that where designed for the M1025 kit (M2 maschine gun, gun-ring etc)
The fit of the kit is quite good. So far only the fuel tank needed some sanding
External details are decend, the kit can be build OOB in my option. Internal details are soft
Planned build
The vehicle will be build as a troop carrier towing a M102 howitzer. There are a few photos showing the combo during DS with a vehicle and gun in "non-Desert" cammo

Hi all
well I started my Hummer too. I want to keep it simple so I rather do the Tamiya 1/48 scale M998 out of the box (instead of the M1151 conversion like Greg). I already built quite a bit before I thought that it would be nice to shoot a picture, sorry for that.

Brent, thanks for Your opinion (Anthony - thank You too.)
PLGR came from Pro Art Models (I've got some parts from Dumvee conversion, PLGR should be in it).
BFT map is printed screenshot, this one:

More progress on my M998. Planned as part of a larger diorama set in the Twilight:2000 universe:
The complete picture will be a ragtag US convoi on it's way to the evacuation ports meeting a group of refugees
