Okay Jeremy, I'll bite.

But before hand.....what is a single good 1/35th kit of a HMMWV? No AM needed, no nada but the kit itself....something that will make a nice rendition. Oh, and not an armored one....just the ol' plain-jane, mostly forgotten, cargo version?

Mike, If you Are wanting a M998, Then the only one straight out of the kit is the Academy one. it is not too bad, although the tamiya ones are much better but they are of the M1025 and M1046. There are tons of conversions out there but for OOB then those are your choices. The Italeri ones are missing so much detail.

let me know if you need more info Mike.

Tonight is the first time I had seen this post with the link. Needless to say, I went and signed up right away. Now, I just have to decide what I will build. I have multiple that I want to do in my stash. Here are my list of projects that I have planned.

1. Tamiya M1025- Will build out of the box with some eduard PE and Pro Art SINCGARs.
2. M998 with hard top- Not sure what the base kit will be yet. Will be using the Pro Art hard top set.
3. DUMVEE- Using Tamiya M1025 and Pro Arts DUMVEE conversion kit
4. M1097 with commo shelter- Not sure what the base kit will be. I have the legends shelter.
5. Kitbash of Tamiya and Academy Maxi-Ambulance
6. Kitbash of Tamiya and Academy Avenger
7. M1114 using Blast Models conversion
8. M1151 using the Legends conversion
9. Kitbash of Tamiya M1046 and Tamiya 25mm Bushmaster HMMWV

Now, I have to just pick the one I want to do first.

It would be cheating to use one of my current work-in-progress Humvees, http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/35th-scale/Models/2009_08110087.jpg or http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/35th-scale/Models/WIP/ProArt-hardtop.jpg , so it'll have to be the IDF TOW Humvee conversion from Legend. Now all I have to do is get a base kit....

Looks like I'll be joining the crowd with the Legend M-1151 conversion, the Legend extended bumper, and the Blast Models Rhino boom.

I am notoriously bad about signing up for a campaign, only to be called out of the country for several months, and not being able to finish. However, I have signed up for this one in hopes of being around long enough to complete a simple HMMWV. It'll be an Iraqi M1114.

Ok I've dug out some stuff from my stash, I was going to go with the new M1151 but I imagine there might be a few of these in here before the campaign ends so Im going to try scratch a conversion of the M1114 Heavy Humvee with all the gucchi armour. Gonna go with an unusual turret and I'll throw in the Blast Rhino kit for good measure.

I had a try at this before but lost interest, I've more reference material now so I'll give it a second shot, fingers crossed or I'll be throwing my lot in with another M1151!

I started my Humvees since this campaign idea started and sat in limbo for so long. Do I have to drop out now since the start date isn't until oct 15th? I'm slow anyways and still have a long ways to go. Just got the rest of the jerry cans I needed today, and I'm still this far into to it:

No need to drop out Greg. I don't see a problem with the slightly early start.

Herky

Still do not know why it does not show up on the Campaigns page yet though....

Great! Thanks Jeremy
Hi Anthony, the figures are from Propaganda Kompany. I recommend their humvee set which you may find on e-bay a little cheaper than their website. There's another company that sells modern figures in UK I haven't seen in person but not very expensive:

Also, be sure to try some Blackdog Accessory sets from track48.com
