Claude I must say that your work is so amazing. the detailing is good. I hope some day to be only a tenth as good as yours. I just wanted to say that and since the first time I saw your village i fell in love with it and love reading all your post on it. thank you for sharing your world with us.

Claude,
Awesome work! What do you use for the exterior walls of your village buildings that produces the granular look of stucco. Is it acrylic paste or textured paint? Also, when you made the cobblestone road surfaces, how did you produce so many of them? I have used cork as a cobblestone road surface that I learned of from an article on here called "put a cork in it." Once again, awesome work thus far.

Hey, three new faces! Thanks for posting
@Bruce,
I certainly could not have done that over the years without periodic motivation kicks from all of you, so this is absolutely normal
@Blackwater, greets to China, glad i have a supporter over there
@Ryan, thanks a lot.
I am using sifted ground material, sand or earth, depending on the granularity i want. Sifted over a coat of wood glue, this is really easy.
LOL, with a lot of patience!
From a corkboard i am cutting long 3-4 mm wide stripes with my table saw (cutter and ruler works also of course).
I am then smoothing already the long sides of the stripes with my Dremel. Now you have already two sides of your later cork piece smoothed.
Then i am cutting the individual pieces from he stripes, around 7 mm long.
Use whahtever you want to be effective, i a using a Amati cutter.
I then take every single piece and smooth the headsides with sanding paper, just a bit to take away the hard edge from the cut.
Repeat that 7-8000 times and you have a road of 7 foot (over two meters).
Voilŕ! No mystery, just patience. Oh yes, wear a chirurgical glove when smoothing the stones, otherwise your fingertip will be bloody after the first hundred.
I will show a few more pictures after the expos. I don't really have the time to do a reasonable setup for photos now. This dio is starting to be very difficult to photograph. Overall pictures are a nightmare without setting up neutral background. )of a few meters!) The long distances in the dio also require a long focus depth i don't have with my current cam (max. F11)
Watch for reporting about Euromilitaire next weekend, i am sure there will be plenty of good pics around before i do them.
Thanks
Claude

Absolutly amazing progress, I remeber seeing this for the first time in AFV Modeller magazine and was totally blown away by the sheer size.
Keep it up.

Thank you Phil and Tom
Regarding the jeep, there was a bonus. The Jeep is a closed one and it carry's a litter. So this fell all off off course. I repaired it, but had to fix two wheels with wire and the wounded soldier on the litter needs now one further bandage. As i said , there are 4 anf half square meterss to look at, so hopefully the focus will not be on this Jeep.
I am happy i can calm down now, really. This morning, before coming to office, i made a little wash over a circulation sign i planted yesterday evening.
Of course, when wipping away the surplus of wash, the red color of the sign started to come off. The varnish was not dry enough. Ok, i leave it for now, it looks a bit like sunny bleached red now, but this all should not really be.

Claude,
Good to hear that the jeep was repairable. When you get back from the show can you please post some pictures of the current work done. Again good luck at the show.

Wow, since some weeks or months I read only the news, and time is gone since my last postings... but I agree: it´s a bit like a real photo and a virtual "walk trough"!
I cannot translate this, but your images look very real to me!
Also, I bought your booklet /book, and again I think about your "small city", it looks a bit like a photo.
(At the moment I have no words for that !)
greetings...
Soeren

Thomas, sure i will show a few more
For now, i am still terribly tired after this weekend. All the anticipation and then the stress of transporting and displaying, the huge success and hours and hours of discussing it with fellow modellers.
Thank you Soeren, thanks also for buying the book.
Jeff, thank you also, i try to find a suitable place for it in a few years.
Nihat, a special welcome to a new follower, glad you like it. I am honored that your first post on Armorama was for my work
Hear from me soon

your dio is indeed a great work of art. Can't wait to see it! No, pressure but I do hope it will be finished soon. That alone makes a trip to Luxemburg worthwhile.

Thanks for popping in Steven. Glad you found me in that corner at Euro
Thanks Filip, you are welcome to Luxembourg of course, but why not just go to
http://www.scalemodelfactory.nl/start.html
on Oct.17, perhaps one of the last possibilities to see it life and it's not far from Antwerp.
Cheers

Thank you very much Primoz! I suppose you mean by E-day the auction site?
I would have of course preferred making the sale myself or through one of my resellers. The only one getting a financial support now is the seller on Ebay.
Claude
Edit.: As Lazlo is telling in the next message, E-day is indeed a fair, so i'm wrong here, sorry, but there you have my point of view regarding my book appearing on Ebay. :-)
Primoz, if you have any question regarding the content of the book, please feel free to drop me mail.

Hi Claude,
I'm very glad you had great success on Euro though I had no doubts about it. Will you put some image here or on to your site about it?
P.S. I think Primroz talked about the yearly Eduard fair in Prague, the E-day, not the E-bay. I wanted to go there but forgot completely.

sorry i didn't get back to you Claude, recently my bestfriend, who was like a brother to me died, so i was kind of a wreck for a few days, still am to be honest he was the same age as me (28). but to answer your question. no i haven't been to Euromilitaire, not yet anyway.... my skills haven't reached that good a stage yet, though oneday i hope for now i'll keep learning from the masters on here, and trying new techniques, then hopefully in the near future i might take a model or two to see if i can get a commended ribbon at least

Hi Lazlo, thank you for correcting me, i edited already the post above.
I did not take a lot of pictures myself, no time and bad lighting. I was able to do a few fancy ones from above. I will see what i have, perhaps this evening.
(i do not need pictures from the dio, i know it very well :-) , so i tried to take pics with visitors, but see above the poor conditions)
Not a lot of reports from Euro are actually showing my dio, i think the poor space i ended in did not allow good pictures. Better ones will come for sure from Scale model Challenge in NL in three weeks.
Also Euro was very figure heavy this year, so most concentrate on that.
I am already preparing Virton and upon return from there, i will set up the dio to try myself some first good detail pictures usable for the later book. For overall pics i need to plan something else in the future.
Hey, Lazlo, i saw even someone buying your book! I know him, but he should out himself here. LOL

Nico, no, i did not miss your post :-) , i was just a bit joking with Lazlo
Transportation should be ok, i just broke a small bit of a wall on the way home. That is only due because of the hurry when packing.. I will take more care in the future.
As i said my fotos from Euro are very limited as i don't need to take the dio and the other opportunitys were rare as i don't have the camera hanging on permanently.
Just three then for the fun of it
One complete view, probably the one mostly taken as it was the only free side
Here is the picture taken from above, only possible because i was placed directly under the entrance terrasse
well , and this one
Cheers
