@Thomas
My US reseller is http://www.monroeperdue.com
Other resellers are listed on my site. Thank you very much for your interest.

Thank you Jon and Brad

Brad, the big window of the Café is also not fixed very well anymore.
As the window is to big to do my usual clear resin thing, i am trying to use parts of the plastic as support for the clear resin and then be able to simulate a nice broken window. Hopefully the plastic wil not melt under the resin.

Thanks guys

Claude

Thank you very much everyone, i'm glad you all here.

So, what did i do the last weeks. Not a lot!
That is mainly because i did not pay enough attention when i did my window cases and did everything except nice recangular, aligned, same -sized boxes.
I got my revenge when i build and inserted the windows. I had a lot of trouble and it costs me a lot of time.
I also broke a piece of the styro wall and reglued everything and only later saw that this was not well done also.
I think this will be some very nice building when you walk past at the show, but don't stop and make macro pics. LOL

I am working on this reference pic.

I made the writings using self made decals on simple white color. These are clear styrene sheets i slightly abraded (sp?) at those places to better hold the color.
All text is invented except the "Confections". It is a draper's and cloth shop.

I am not finished yet, but i am getting there, finally

Have a nice sunday

Claude

Hi Claude. Nice progress its coming along really nice! One question for you .
are the shops going to have an interior to them or are you just going leave them blank?

Hi Jaymes,

Blank as much as possible as they were not active (empty ) at this time.
The house will be full build, so the interior will be dark anyway.
Also, the viewer's distance to this house will be more then a half meter.

Thanks for answering Claude. That was my main reason for the question whether you would be able to see the interior. All the best.

I look forward, to see your houses grow.

Thank you guys!

As you may discern on the ref. pic, there is a fence in front of the shop window.
Here, to the contrary of my window adventure mentionned above, i expected trouble, but was pleased to see this one easier then anticipated.
I used another ref. pic.

to make this here, using plastic strips and copper wire i passed through the pasta machine :-)

Hope you like it!

Another thing!

I launched the BLOG section of my website today! Finally!
http://www.diorama-clervaux.com/Blog/index.php?

There are some things to do (Links, etc) and i also need to catch up with the building , but it is running and i invite you to visit me as often as you can.
The Blog will certainly overtake the forum one day, so for those waning the news immediately....
Of course, there is also a certain book to buy :-)

Cheers
Claude

Hi Tom,

I missed that part of your post! Thank you very much for your buy !
There are still a lot of modellers out there who should follow your example

Soeren, Randy, thanks to you!

Here is then how i finished the steel folding gate.
The gate is probably closed since years because of the war, so the gate could use some rust.
I tried for the first time the salt technique and it worked superbly.
I only needed to crush the salt a bit as it was bigger then my steelbars!
Black basecoat, then a acrylic mix to get a rusty color, the salt, and as cover coat Tamiya RLM Grey.

and fixed in place

Unfortunately the lettering is nearly invisible now.

i will adress the lower facade later. The gummy Gesso coat over this part does not allow for good wheatering.

Some little painting left, then comes the roof of the house!

Cheers
Claude
