Hey Guys !

I thought there could be an opening for a Campaign titled:

"Eastern European Steel"

It would include all AFV's from all conflicts whose country of service includes all European Countries East of Germany..

eg: WW1 thru to present, and countries such as:

Poland, USSR, Russia, Hungry, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia (and therefore Serbia, Croatia etc etc), Romania, Ukraine, etc, etc. But all models would have to have Eastern European country markings.

Any thoughts or willing participants in this concept ?

All scales, all conflicts and also 'peace time' entries would be acceptable.

It would open up all sorts of possibilities :

WWII and later T-34's, Polish WWII 7TP's, all sorts of T-72's, T-80's, T-64's, T-90's, and many other older AFV's and well as many other new AFV's from any of those countries

Think sbout it: BMP's, SA-6's, Scud launchers, lend lease Shermans etc..... We could go on for ever

Well ?

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,
Over the past 2 months there has been campaign suggestions that are along the same lines, 1 Mother Russia and the other 1 was a KV-1. The KV-1 seemed more popular, don't know why. But as I have been reading on this site the campaigns are additive, and I think I have become addicted I don't have anything in the small stash that would qualify right now, but I'm sure that I could find something. So I guess you can count me as in.

I´m also following this campaign proposal thread with interest to see if it gets enough people enlisted and what´s the timetable. I don´t wanna get too many campaigns to do at same time, had bad experienses about it this year.. Don´t count me in yet but I´m reconsedering.

I still have a T-54 in the stash, originallt intended for the "steel beasts of the east"-campaign.
In my case it didn't materialize, but I allready had a backup plan ready...
So, yes, I am interested.

Well if we do Scotty we open up all of the other Countries of East Europe... eg: Poland has a lot to offer.

ie: Polish armor in exile during WWII, such as the First armored in NW Europe and 2nd Corps in North Africa and Italy !

The other areas for example could be Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and the Balkan wars in the 90's ...Boznia, Croatia, Serbia, etc etc there are many others...

WW1 through to now .... all acales

I will be keen on this campaign too... looking at the whole list of on-going and up-coming campaigns, my guess is the earliest starting time would be 2011? anyways this will be a good opportunity to cut my teeth on eastern European armour

p.s. well actually I have been looking for an excuse to get this wonderful icm 1/72 btr-60 (on discount!) at one of the LHS

From what I can see we don't have enough starters yet - it looks like we have 8 intrested but not all confirmed.

We need more for a start date of say November this year.

Ok, I think I´m gonna enlist, as soon as this campaign is official. KV campaign starts January 1st, so it will be busy winter and spring. Just give us enough time to build and get finished..

OK how about 6 months in duration starting December 1 2010 ?

Those who would like to participaye let me know and we'll see if we get the numbers ....

It seems that Modern Soviet / Russian builds are really popular in build Blogs ATM

December, is generally a busy month for me but if it runs for 6 months, it is usually a long cold winter in New York. Now i just have to get something to build

Count me in - I have a pile of Russian/ Soviet armour that needs to be assembled. I'm likely to be in with either a T-54 or T-62.

If I believe we have 10 starters min, I can put the Campaign up for approval.

I don't think we have 10 definate starters at this stage, I think we need a few more..

Please post your interest in enlisting ASAP.

Cheers

Paul
