No real update yet, but I have been doing some work on this model again.

I will be receiving the resin casting some time this coming week, and I can't wait to start painting that area. I also did some work on the new firewall.

I have also started working on a stripped down T-62 motor compartment for my Trumpeter T-62 mod 62.

Update and pics coming soon.

Hi Seb

Yes the resin castings will be for sale. A company called Celticwerks will make the sets and they will be distributed through AlpineFlage Hobbies

[url=http://www.alpenflage-hobbies.com/mambo/index.php[/url]

The first test castings have been poured and I should be getting my copies this week. I will be doing a full review and build of it on my website. The first set to be released will be the Stripped Down Motor Compartment. The sets will be ready for sale in the beginning of December.

I am aslo working on the masters for the T-62 Motor Comp. which will also be released by Celticwerks. Both sets will be limited runs of only 100.

cheers
Rob

Just an update to show some test castings of the parts made from the masters.

The wrecked interior floor, master and resin copy.

The resin copy

Motor compartment floor, master on the left and the copy on the right.

The rear wall with the fan shroud cast as one. The master is the bottom part and the resin copy above it.

One of the motor compartment walls.

The molds need a bit of tweaking then we should have perfect copies.

Any and all feedback is most appreciated.

Good work Rob!;-)
Seb,conversions are designed for Tamiya kit.Maybe you can adapt it.The whole thing depends from the measures of trumpy kit respect the tamiya one.

Thanks guys for the feedback/comments, much appreciated.

Seb, Ciro is correct, I made them to fit Tamiya kits that I have. I don't have any Trumpeter kits so I can't really say if it will fit or can be modified to fit. I used my masters templates to check the fit into the ESCI kit I have, but it will need a lot of modifying to fit. The rear plate and angled floor plates are different from the Tamiya kit. I was hoping to use the ESCI kit for a wreck.

Ciro,

Thanks again guys

Seb, the stripped motor comp should be available sometime Dec/Jan. The mass production molds are being made and then the casting will begin.

I did receive some of the first castings, some with tiny air bubbles but I can use them. These were the first run castings and the final product will be perfect.
I did a test fit of some of the resin parts, except the fire wall which was not ready yet.

For the T-69 I will be making a new rear panel and larger fan shroud. The following pics can give you a rough idea how the model is going to look.

More to come so don't go away.

Hey Roy, nice to see you here on the forum. Yep these are some of the castings from Steve. Boy I think the guy can cast about anything.

That is awesome Rob! Simply awesome!

I think between you and Steve with his excellent casting skills you've pretty much put all other modern Soviet interior/engine kits to shame. I cannot wait till this becomes available and really hope that you come out with some other stuff as well.

Rob, Mauro and Az....glad you like it so far. As for the CW3501 Stripped motor compartment, I think it's a welcome addition to the AM sets on the market. This set will allow modelers to depict an Afghan wreck as seen in so many photos posted on the web. I for one plan on doing several T-55's using this set. We are also working a wrecked interior set which will be perfect for Afghan and Iraqi wrecks.
I have also started on the M-compartment for the Trumpeter T-62. After that several other Russian ugly tanks.

I hope to get some time at the bench to add what's left of the fire wall and misc. debris in the hull. Then it's time to paint the interior.

Stay tuned for more.

Hi Rob, my friend!

More and more I like it!
I can not wait, when you paint.
I will slowly start to an abandoned T62, in 1/35 scale.

Jesper, Seb and Pepe thanks guys. I too am looking forward to the painting of the interior. Just a few bits to add to the interior and then I will start the painting.

Been spending a lot of time getting the CW3501 Stripped T-55 Motor Compartment ready for release. Should be available before X-mas.

Pepe... I have the Trumpeter T-62 on the shelf and am dying to start it. It is being used right now to make masters of a T-62 stripped motor compartment, another resin set to be released in a couple of months.

Will take some pics of the progress on this T-69 wreck soon and post it up here.

Sorry for the long wait on an update, been kinda hectic with all the other projects I have.
Work on this project is finally picking up again, in the form of added debris and some detailing.

The reference pics I have for the tank I am modeling do not show much of the motor compartment, so I am winging it here. I used some aluminum foil for some of the twisted metal and also the remains of the tank on the left hand wall. Styrene strip and small diameter wire was used for the remains of the braking system of the hull floor. There are some other details from the braking system that still have to be added, again using the limited reference I have of this tank.

I also added some of the turret details such as the lifting hooks with added welds, remains of the roof ventilator and some other stuff.

The following pics show the small progress that has been made so far. Having to cast the motor compartment definitely has paid off and now I have enough resin sets for a lot of other wrecks.

I should have the interior ready for painting by the weekend. I will also be painting a resin set along side this one for a video.

Thanks for looking.
