Hi Rob,
it looks really good!!It's also a good thing that you haven't set in place more debris. The ones casted look good but I always love to add by my own this kind of thing.
To add other debris(even few of them) allow you to have a better control of the area and a more 3d aspect of the zone.
I'm waiting for your paintjob!

Ciro I agree with you. The casting gives a base to work with and adding more debris gives livens it up.
Well I finished the interior and since I was at it I went ahead and added some details to the outside of the turret. This was done to make it easier to paint the inside of the turret, and to get the turret done and out of the way.

I have started the painting in the form of primer. Once it dries overnight I will start the actual painting of the interior. I will be painting a glued together drop in of the Celticwerks stripped motor comp along side this model. Killing two birds with one stone. The painting will go a bit slow due to trying to photograph and video both ineteiors.
Pics coming tomorrow.

A long overdue update with pics.
Like I said in the previous post, I added the final details to the turret in preparation
for painting, and finished off the hull interior. The model has it's primer on and I will get to adding the paint today.

I am still learning about these Russian tanks and am trying to be as accurate as possible in the build. Of course I don't want to make this a year long project and lose interest in the T-55/69/62. I have already spent 6 months on this build and hope to get it done in the next month.

It was great to do some scratchbuiling again, but I am dying to finally paint again.

All comments and tips most appreciated.

Hello
I am following this build quietly from a back row, but i must say the level of details is fantastic.
I did the same destroyed T-55 2 years ago but my details were nowhere near as yours.

Thanks Mauro and Adam, Ciro, the turret hatch issue has been taken care of, thanks bro.

Ok I have been painting the model and also a drop in of the Stripped motor compartment, but still a long way to go.
Here are some pics of what I have been up to. Looking at the pics I think it's time for Santa to bring me a new one.

Next are some pics of the celticwerks stripped motor comp that I will post on my site.

Hopefully I can get more done in the next few days and will have to play around with the camera to get better pics.

Thanks for looking.

Just a quick update on the weathering of the interior using MIG pigments. Still more dusting to do.

More to come.

I don't even feel worthy on commenting on a quality build such as this.

Hey All-
The stripped engine compartment portion of this build is now available as a resin kit.

It retails for $29.00 US.

The first copies will begin shipping on 12-27-10.

Hi Rob. Amazing work on the engine compartment insert and congrats to both yourself and Steve, and I really hope this lifts off for you both. If the insert is anything to go by, this shouldn´t be a problem.
The paintwork so far hasn´t dissapointed ... looking forward to more updates.
