Due to other commitments this has been on the back burner, but I have found the time to finally get it finished.

Nice details, Stephen. Looking forward to see more.

Fine build, Darren. It might be the pictures but the finish look a little "flat". It seems like a wash or two might bring out some of the details. What kit is this?

For this campaign I will build the old school Matchbox Comet. A British produced kit of a British tank. Cannot get more British than that

I have not used any washes on the kit as yet as I was fast running out of time, and I prefer the matt finish on the Challenger II as to me it looks right. The kit used is the Trumpeter offering with workable tracks from Armor Track Models and which I believe are also now released under the Trumpeter brand name. Thank you for the time to comment Jesper.

Hi all- nice campaign so far I must say!!! I lot of terrific builds here.

I haven't been active on the site lately, and thought I would change that by jumping into this campaign. I know, 4 months left, but I think I can do it.

For my contribution I will build Miniart's British Infantry Tank Mk. III, Valentine II. I picked it up a week or so ago and figure that if I hurry I can complete it by the end of the year. It has a LOT of pieces though and looks like a lot of fun as well.

IMAG0011

Also, for fun, I have been building Dragon's British Sherman "El Alamein" and I am almost done. I don't feel that it is right to use this as my campaign contribution so no worries about that lads, but I did think it would be fun to post in the spirit of the campaign. Also, suggestions are welcome with respect to the weathering. I am being a bit timid going forward on this.

IMAG0016

ps. the figure is also miniart.

more progress pics of the Valentine to follow soon!!!

Here are my first progress pics. Sorry the turret interior is blurry on the last picture. I hope to have a better pic up next time.

IMAG0013

Miniart figures are cool!

IMAG0012

Lots of parts!!!

IMAG0022

There are some serious lines to fill underneath the suspension. That is going to be a serious challenge.

thanks for looking!

thanks, Stan! The Valentine is coming along, but it is a big kit and progress can be slow. It doesn't help that I have other modeling projects.

Enjoy the kit if you get one. I recommend it. In the meantime have a good rest of your holiday. Mine is almost over.

Construction of the Matchbox 1/76 Comet is completed. Easy and good fit. Soft details as expected, but it looks like a Comet.
I made it without tracks as I am planning to place it on the trailer of a tank transporter.

More to follow

Thanks for the comment, Stan.

I have now finished my 1/76 Matchbox Comet. It is without tracks as it will be loaded onto a tank transporter. A decent kit with very soft details but lots of nostalgia.

Comments welcome.

Hello everyone,

I know I'm joining a little late in the day, but I think there is time for me to get a straight forward build complete in the remaining three months. So here is my campaign entry, Tamiya's 1/48th Sherman Firefly.

More photo's of the inital construction later in the week I hope.

Chris

Paint and future. I see a few places I'm going to have to touch up with a brush.

Almost completed my entry which is also my first British piece of armour. Paint is Humbrol 75 faded down with I think it was Hu121. Have also dry brushed withthe same and weathered with one of Tamiyas weathering kits. Obviously still need to add a few details to her but, please be easy on me...

Cheers,
Nick.
