I know I'm getting in the game late but here's a pic of the progress on my M-51 Super Sherman.

Michael,
That's the Academy kit. So far it's been a real nice kit. The only problem I'm haveing is the fit of the shroud around the gun mantle where it meets the turret. The pieces do not match up AT ALL! I've had some kits with fit issues but this is a gross missalignment. I'm talking about a 1/8 inch gap! I was planing on adding some tissue to the cover to give it some better texture so it's really no big deal I'll be able to cover the repair in the gap.

See? Ask and thou shall receive! :-)
I frankly hesitated between my Merk 4 and the M51... the latter won the toss1 :-)

Nice choice with the Hotchkiss, Remco.
The Hotchkiss at display at the Latrun armor museum was captured by the germens before it ended up in Israel, so it still has the Nazi eagle stamp in the front armor.
Looking forward to see more.

Aloha,
Sadly I've had to drop this campaign. I was not able to locate a conversion kit for my M151 Mutt and with the time remaining and my other campaign commitments, I don't think I could finish with the time left.
The builds so far look great and I will definitely follow along.

A short update. The base color is now on. Next are the details on the hull. The track extensions should be on the way so as soon as they are here I will start working on those as well.
More to follow.

Decided to do an Eduard Mirage III. Still debating on NMF or camo but I should have that resolved here shortly.

Just some words of warning. The last one I built the fuselage was warped and getting everything together turned into a nightmare, so take care. Get those intake parts solidly together before installing! And, where the leading edge of the underside of the wing fits to the upper parts there can be a good size ledge, a few minutes with some sandpaper on the inside of the lower wing leading edge will take care of this.
Great kit, but a bit fiddly is all I'm saying.

Michael, you were right on the money. Had to shim some spots and fiddle with the alignment. However, it is closed up. Will have another shot on here in a minute. Think I will do#52 from 101 Sqdn. in NMF.

Well, the Mirage is progressing. Fit underneath was a little tempermental but a few shims and some CA remedied the issues. Not a bad build so far. Decided on a NMF Mirage from 101 Sqdn................kinda like a sports car except with Sidewinders.

Well I was going to build a M50 for this but I have changed my mind. I am building Tamiya' M51 instead here is where I have gotten to. The lower hull is more or less complete. I had to fill a bunch of knock out marks on the hull sides, and the inside face of the large return rollers as well as the guide rings on the drive sproket.
The tracks are not the greatest but I just got a set of AFV club tracks of ebay so I'll start on them tonight.
Regards,
Rod

Finally getting around to my build for the campaign. It is the Revell Merkava III with a mine roller I pinched from a Trumpy T-55 w/mine roller (KMT-5). I got the inspiration from a friends 1/35th scale Academy kit and I just had to do it in "the proper" scale. Just figuring out how I'm going to mate the two. I want to say there are a lot of very cool builds (both armor and otherwise) going on in this campaign. Looking forward to seeing them all!

Was experimenting with a couple of techniques to get the rough surface texture on the hull. 1. was using Mister Surfacer 500 and 2. was brushing Future on the surface followed by sprinkling baking soda from an old brush onto it and letting it dry. This looks pretty realistic in 72nd scale so I think I'll go with it. Did some detailing to the hull, turret, and mine rollers tonight. Will post pics tomorrow, too tired and my eyes are crossed!

And we have another Merk looking forward to your kit bash with the rollers.
I have got a lot of work done on the Humvee, all the major parts are together and painted now.

I'm really digging your Braille Hummer! Looking forward to the IDF "soldier" you talked about displaying with it!
