Well Jaredt, the method that Mike suggested is very good indeed
Interesting pictures. Where did you find them?
Have you noted the tow cable lain on the ground?
In my opinion must be a damaged tank. Crew is waiting for an ARV vehicle and tow cable has been prepared to drag the T34
On the engine deck there are spare parts which will carried in a repair shop
On the engine deck of second the tank there's a T34 trasmission group
probably also this tank is actually out of order

They're both from one of the links you posted earlier.
I'm going to try the hairspray technique I think. I want the tank to look USED, not on its last legs. Lots of "wear". I found these pictures also:
Fuel streaks under tanks on side:
This for the "missing fuel tank" look and other wear and tear(I'm aware this tank is wrecked and therefor heavily worn)
As well as this for wear on the turret etc (possibly done with hairspray technique, then sprayed over with light version of base to show more worn than chipped or scraped and rusted)

Sorry I don't understand what you're trying to illustrate with this picture, not trying to be rude... puzzled.

Last night I was very tired so It was very hard to me writing in english....just my blame!
Anyway I didn't want illustrate nothing special except a photographic evidence of a drawing which I've seen in another site
The first pic that you've posted (...well actually the pic is not visible 'cause you put the wrong link in the comment ...), depicts a group of italian soldiers who is ispectioning a T34. Soldiers are wearing summer uniforms
Actually in Summer of 1942, in southern of Russia, italian army operated with a captured T34-76 tank.
That's the vehicle represented in the 3 view draving which i posted.
White crosses that you can see on the turret are Savoy's symbols
I think the tank depicted in the photo might be actually the same represented on the 3 view drawing.
Most likely the pic was taken before the italians painted the withe crosses on the turret
I hope my thoughts are clearer now
Cheers Jaredt

I think I'd like to do a wreck, or at least one that isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Lots of cool pictures of T34s with their tracks all folded up amongst the road wheels. And it'll give me a chance to do some rust, practice techniques, get the hang of my AB (should be here this week).
BUT ANYWAY, HERE'S PICS, BUILD'S DONE, WATCHA THINK?
Right side, tow cables, ice cleats, fuel tanks, removed front left fender
Left side, missing fuel tank, 2 brackets still present
Dents, tears, etc added to engine grille
Rear, tried to fix exhausts best I could, chipped/bent fenders
Paint will be done this week, standard 4bo, maybe a decal or two, and some decent weathering to show lots of wear. This tank would look used but still be in use.

Very good indeed, congrats Jaredt!
You did some very convincing damages, especially on the rear grille
Now I'm waiting your paint job
Cheers

There's a lot of videos about on you tube
Maybe you've already known him, but you can also look at the blog of a very skilled modeller
Although he's interested just on Sci-fi models, in my opinion is another master in weathering techniques

Yes I think the hairspray will be the way to go, however, I don't know if I'll use salt. I may just try the hairspray, base coat, highlights, water and brushes method. I watched a lot of Scratchmod's videos on youtube and they were VERY informative so I feel like I know what I'm doing. There's a few more brushes I'd like to get and have to pick up some tooth-picks. I've picked one or two pictures to paint from, and have a few more for areas that aren't shown in the former.
I have not heard of that modeler, but am checking out the links right now, thanks!
