Thanks for your encouragement.

Long time modeller. Starting when I was a teenager, then I found out about girls and college and work and kids. But now that I have one girl, no school, no work and the kids are grown, I'm back to full time modelling. My prime area of interest is armor, b

Got in earlier on, have yet to decide what I am going to build! Any suggestions on something economical?

this is 1 of the least expensive kit I have found in 1/35 scale

Thanks Sal for the link

I think that dragon is the best choice for me, they have good stuff for reasonable prices. I also have my eyes on the trumpeter German WR 360 C12 Locomotive, it looks like a good kit.
@ Tom: that is an insane project you got there, and the camouflage is really nice!
About Baluard products, does anyone know the price list for those products?
Thanks,

Vladimer, Hit the contact space on tnier site and drop them a line. The small locomotive runs about $70.00 U.S. and included shipping. Takes awhile to send through thier system.

hi Sal, i've been eyeing this campaign thread and would like to enlist... i just don't know what i'd like to build. my grandfather worked in the train industry in europe and i always loved the old rail machines.
i'd like to build a streetcar or tram. there was one kit quite awhile ago (i think it was 1/32 scale) which i see now and again in people's dioramas. anyone know where i could get this kit? i've also seen a tanker car (the round capsule shaped container for liquids) done in 1/35th... any ideas what this kit might be?
i'm going to keep my eyes peeled for something that tickles my fancy or i may start planning a scratchbuilt railway machine. cheers, bd.

Bruce, I'm thinking that your skill set will lend itself well to either an industrial style diorama or an abandoned or scrapped car being perused by kids, trophy hunters, or people looking for parts/scraps.

Hi Guys,
Have just signed up for the campaign.
Recently bought a Cromwell Models Drasine in resin from the Huddersfield Show..
The subject matter is not one that I would normally go for, but it was tooooo good a bargain to miss.
I now have a purpose to build it , thank you!
Cheers
Keith

Have just signed up for a ride on the crazy train. This, I think well be one of the better campaigns.

Hey Bruce, check out Baluard models for what appears to be a german street car/trolly. Custom Dioramics had one some time ago, Kit #CD6052 (European Trolly/ powered unit) and you might find it on e-bay if it's no longer available, could not tell you as I got mine about four years ago. bob d.

Aloha All,
As I started thinking about this campaign, the first image that came to mind is that famous photo of the locomotive crashed through the second story wall of the station, nosed into the street. Then reality set in and I determined I'd never have the skill or patience to pull that one off. So I went with the second image that came to mind...
The inspiration:

(photo by Ernst Dohany, published in German Tanks of World War Two 'in action' by George Forty, Arms and Armour Press, 1991. Photo posted for discussion purposes only).
The kit:
http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=CHC9118 Not an exact match, but good enough for me. I also envision the possibility of a rather surprised driver and few others wondering what just happened standing about on the loading platform.
Looking forward to the attempt...
Happy Modelling, -zon

Zon, Nice choice there. I have the tank that comes with that kit but not the rail car

Nothing in the rules says that you can't swap out the tank for one the one from the picture. looking forward to seeing you build come together

Sal: I thought about getting a more correct tank, but I also blew my budget getting Friul tracks to get the sag correct, which cost as much as a kit, so I'll be sticking with the tank that comes with the rail car.

Besides, I can't imagine that photo shows the only tank that happened to...
Thanks for the encouragement!!

Yep, I am in! Not sure which will be built. More than likely another Drasine (not Flak this time)......or one of the many flat cars or armored cars. We'll see.

Sal: you were right! I do need to get a different tank. I received the kit yesterday and it has the suspension arms molded with the hull, so I would not be able to show the sag correctly, so I'll be getting new Pz III F from Dragon. Budget be damned!
I also ordered the wrong Fruil tracks (solid horns instead of open horns)
Oh well, wheels forward!!!
Mike: I saw some armoured cars around the web for a pretty good price, as well as some flat beds with MG's. Welcome aboard.
