WOW that is very pink indeed Sal, looking good though As far as I understand the colour used on the pinky was called Mountbatton pink.
Here is the latest on my RSOV I cant really do much more till I get the Black Dog set.

The RSOV is looking good Scott.... the hardtop looks interesting!
You've now got an old Christy Moore song into my head and I keep humming it: "Don't forget your shovel if you want to go to work...."

loads of great work - i made a modest start on the R-WMIK TES
just soting out the fit of the conversion parts and some chopping
made a start on other bits - made me decide I want to order the RSOV or Hard top - what a great kit !
cheers

Hay gang I have added some stowage to the RSOV, this is only temporary till I get the Black dog set. Oh and i found the missing shovel.

Hi Scott,
Nice stowage distribution. I recognize Tamiya modern Us military equipment. Just one problem with the rear which is hollow.
Can I ask you, where did you find this type of PSP plate ?
Perhaps US backpacks with MOLLE system are too recent to be put on this vehicle. What do you think of it ?

And the winner is ..... get that man a prize
Yep it is a BATUS red top land rover I wanted to do something a bit different from the green/sand you always see and liked the idea of doing a beet up BATUS Landy.
Mark, nice start I am looking forward to seeing how the accurate armour set builds up on the hobby boss kit.
Alex, Thanks the PSP type plate you are referring to is the sand channels that come with the kit.

Nice Mark !
The armored floor panel is totally different in the PH Designs photoetched set, perhaps it's an early type ?

Great work gent's sorry I have not replied sooner,I had a little accident and bruised my coccyx so I could not not sit at the desk comfortably few a few days but I am back with it now.
I have not done much more building, but I was having a rummage around some spare boxes and found a figure that will fit perfectly in the turret ring of the RSOV.
And I have matt coated the hard top ready for weathering.

Ok I had the Pinky sitting on the beach for a while and decide to try, unsuccessfully, some rust/paint chipping with brown iron oxide Then I did some more weathering to the sand skids. So then I said self if u leave this here any longer you will completely screw it up, so I shot it with Dull coat. Not my best work by far but finished
I'll post a photo in the gallery

Everybody's landies are looking great already.
Because I am on my easter break with the kids and the in laws at the family caravan in Lossiemouth, I was forced to leave the DAF DROPS at home.
Aside from the fact that I would have needed to take up so much scratch building supplies and tools, I had a fear that I would more than likely spoil what work I have done by cramming the model in boxes amongst everything else I had to take with me (everything including the kitchen sink) packed in to my 7 foot by 4 foot trailer. Something would be bound to get broken so close to the Perth show.
To keep my sanity, I decided to take a Land Rover to work on. No, not the Lightweight, as that too would have needed all my itchy scratchy stuff !!!!!!!!!!
I pulled out the Monogram 88" Landrover 7 seater Stationwagon I bought on Evilbay for £11 recently. Quite unusual to get that kit in untouched condition for so low a price.
No pics uploaded to PC as yet, but the kit falls together very quickly. Good fit on all parts and great instructions.
Having looked under the bonnet I see that the steering box is on the wrong side for the left hand drive dashboard inside. A simple slice and dice to get it on the opposite side and in line with the steering wheel.
Am toying with scratching a soft top to replace the stationwagon top, but as I have no supplies, I am resorting to plotting out possible dimensions for a dry run in paper and in aluminum foil from a Tunnocks tea cake wrapper.
I don't even have paints or brushes with me, so this build will also stall till I get home again.
Will post up some pics tomorrow if my internet connection via the dongle will let me.
All the best
