How did you attach the tracks to the turret, I would love to do the same on the 62M I'm building?

Hi Erik!

My situation will be diferent as yours. I made a smale base to hold the track's rowel on the turret from A+B putty. But your case is diferent, couse you won't have any "sand " bags. Isn't it? When I'll be home, I'll take some photos for you!

cheers

Gergo I really love the paint job you did, outstanding finish. Did you base the paint on a photo? I've never seen a russian tank with those colors. Either way can't wait to see this one weathered up.

Neither do I. All the "Chechen" T-62s which I've seen in reference pics so far, seems to have the overall green camo scheme. Your scheme looks like a variant to the "Mustard" scheme with the light green instead of the ochre

We had a similar discussion about some time ago

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/193259&ord=&page=1

I hope that a Russian modeller will express his opinion about

And of course, if you have a photo which depicts this stunning scheme, please let us see

Anyway, I'm really impressed by your paint skill, I really wish I were so good at painting!

Congrats!

Hi,

Of course I have refereces. But a bit strange to make "debate" about russian colors, basicly as many russian factorys as many colors. I could paint it with a simple nato green color which is I think the closest color for the "russian green thone" but in this case, I HAD to do those colors.

I hope everyone can see now, tha my colors are not came from my fantasy

Cheers

Hi Karl!

First step will be to mix my base color and mix with radome tan, spray it and after the sam method wit the light green and black as well. After use oil paints (nuppes yellow, umber, raw umber, white , yellow, and black) to make the dirty and scratches, or damages, and finaly make the mud wit humbrol paints. That is the plan in big lines will see how will work! But I'll keep posted on this topic mate.

Yes, according to your pics, that's a "mustard" scheme variation. Nice to see that the light green looks close to an apple green when it is worn
So I can't wait to see your job finished
Are you going to make a diorama?

Cheers

Hello guys!

Long time not writing to this topic! I had the reason. I didn't like my paintjob on this beast. And hey be honest it was not good at all. Ok the paint job maybe, I mean the quality, but not the colours. It happened many other tinghs also in my life, and I just put this beauty in to a box and just not looked around it all over the year. However, I finished my T-72 and I wanted to finsih this, because it's such a nice subject, so I said sit down and paint it well!
Judge me you guys, let's see how you like it.

I hope you like it!
Gergo

Love the odd shade of green, the paint looks great to me. Are you finished weathering it? The running gear is oddly clean for a tank in Chechnya.

Thanks guys

Erik, that is only the colours on it and filter and the first pin wash! Nothing else yet, so yes, it will be dirty, it will be mud it will be dust, chip paint, scratches, bags, figures, so I'm just not ready yet.

Hi guys!

My name is Gergo Szaszko from Ireland. If nobody knows my name that's not an coincidental, couse I've made before only second world war's tanks. But it was a littlebit too much to see on every compatition, that again a new panther, tiger, kingtiger ect. So I started to read about modern things, but I was living too long in the past and the new thing didn't catch me so much, exept the modern russian things!
So couple a weeks ago I decided, that I start something. More than 4 years ago my friend Aron Vrbovszki gave me a photo about a T-62. In the first time i didn't realise, that what a big treasure is in my hand. When I decided, I start to build a modern russian thing, my first thought was this photo. So let me share with you guys this and let's start this topic.

That's what I want to build. I was looking for better quality, but I didn1t find any. But I found another vehicle, just this is the 1972 version, mine is 1962!

First of all I started to build the suspension. I had to do for movable, couse I don't have a base at the moment, and I don't know how it will be standing on the ground. So I've made holes on the hull for first step, and I've made holes on the swing arms' end as well. But before I had to sealed the top of the swing arms, couse the trumpeter made all the suspension' halls with a half circle version!

I was making the welding. And I also started the turret.

I thought, I won't change the back part of the hull, but I heard, that it's inaccurate. I thought, I don't mind, but the mistake so big, that I can not ignore it, I will cut it and fix it. The turret also wrong, but I don't want to do another turret.

I see now on the macro photos, that I've made some mistakes, but I will fix it all of them. That's where I'm now, my next days off will be on Monday Tuesday, so I hope I can start the work with the P.E.

Thanks for read!

Welcome, Gergo! VERY NICE JOB!!!

Hello Guys!

I have post here a long long time ago. I did it because of loads of other stuff what I needed to finish before the T-62, and because of my daughter's born. Finally I could manage some time to repaint it, and start the weathering and also the base.
Here is two photos about how will looks like the base, and how is looks like the first step of weathering on turret. I hope you like it, and if you'r interesting more check my blog
