I set it as Jan 2012 due to the number of campaigns that are already running and to give people who would like to enter plenty of time to find all of the items they wish to use. I also have to consider that Gary has a balancing act to perform with the numbers of campaigns that are running, finishing, and getting ready to start. With all that said I will be happy for this to start any time from September this year if it is acceptable to Gary but will still run it until Dec 2012 unless all entrants are finished before then. I should have added that dioramas are also welcome in this campaign, which opens up the possibility of building Panthers in a construction phase or destroyed, as well as any number of other scenarios.

Darren,
Would like to get in on this one, as I've never built a Panther, but I picked up Dragon's Panther D "Kursk Offensive" DML#6141 last month for a $5 raffle ticket. I run with a Kitmaker photo account and don't delete any of my campaigns or other builds (also use it for my blog build photos as well) so I don't think I'll have any issues with the SBS photos for this build. As this kit is in between the "Imperial Series" and the current "Smart Kit/Premium Kit" lines, I'll be on the lookout for some AM goodies for the tank.

This is going to be a very cool campaign Darren. I like the Panther Campaign banner in your sig. I am all for waiting until the end of this year for the campaign to start as I will be plenty with campaign projects in the meantime.

Darren,
the instruction steps are not always condusive to a good build, and I often build my AFV's in the steps that suit me.
Perhaps you can make the requirements as follows:
Lower Hull
Upper Hull
Tracks
Turret
Paint
Weathering
Final pics
Thoughts ?
Cheers

Middle one is the one for me.
Paul makes a very good point I build all over the show, because I don't like being told what to do.... ?! lol!

I might be interested in joining this campaign
It's nice it doesn't start for a while since i got loads of kits i need to build before
I think i will be building an 1/35 Panther of some sort, probably a Dragon

I do not mind what order you build your models in as long as the steps you take are added to your blog or this thread, the way I worded the requirement seemed the clearest way to get the meaning of the requirement across to the reader.

Irony, of course, is never dead. After finding nothing on the net, of four distributors one had one kit of Dragon 6370 in stock. I started the kit 6/10, and then 6/15 I see the Panther campaign. I guess this kit is a warm up and I need to go on the hunt for maybe Dragon 6268 or the Black Knight Panther with some real tracks. lol at myself.

I know that feeling! Still, if you do go with the Black Knights kit the DS tracks should be fine if you build it in "running" condition. (Just tack them down on the fourth wheel back...) I can't do that because (irony strikes again!) I'm building a museum beast with decidedly unnatural track sag, so had to source the old magic tracks, but the DS ones will grace another build.

Hey Darren,
I love this campain!!! I want to join in! I absolutley love the panther beside my love of the T-34...
I want to build a Kursk panther (early type D panther).
I got 4 kit from dragon panthers.
- The d type premium kit
-2 Type A models ( the normandy kit an the a premium)
- The G late smart kit.
In the city of Gouda there is the only D type in the world
But its standing outside in the rain...
Can make some photos of it, when i am arround...
Regards,
Remco

I have both my boots on and will jump right on in to this foray. Do not know which model/version to build. Might have to go on in and fight the dust bunnies to claim the Gunze jagdpanther that has been eye balling me. Thus I am lined up for the general inspection, with kit in hand.
