Well apologies if that's a "negitive commit" I made; you may have spent 17 years in the Army, but what do you know about the economics of the hobby? What one person thinks is great may not be anyone else's cup of tea and the company or individual might be lucky to sell five units. Sure I'd love to see a great up to date Bradley interior too, but first I'd prefer a proper up to date Bradley kit! Personally TLAV/MTVL versions would float my boat, but that's not what this thread is about (go back and read the OP's first post). Sorry for the derailment Ronnie Lee, you have some great ideas, good luck to Miliminis.

Being a Vietnam war Trackhead, I am well aware of Tracks used in Nam. But that doesn't mean that we are not open to other options. Mention an M-113 and you all have seen what happens, it's like a snowball rolling down a hill. Just gets bigger and bigger. It appears that all M-113 kits available today need updates, some more than others. Of course when one looks at all the variants possible, Nam oriented thread or not, folks are going to start mentioning them. And we at Miliminis, are all ears! True, while some fit into the "Modern" category such as M-1059's or M-1068's, why not mention (or request conversion kits) them while we are on the general subject? I don't mind and I'm absolutely sure that others will not as well.

Hi all,
Kinetics have just announced an M109A2. Sounds like your prayers have been answered Ron.

How about the gun shields for the M113's, M48's and the M551's. That were used in Vietnam. Also when is your Web site going to be up and running.
Tom

with the Sheridan it seems that nobody has yet to ever get the driver's hatch right, and a turned gun barrel would be nice too. (actually we need a new and even more accurate Sheridan kit). Might also look at the custom built storage racks used on the M113's and M551's as well. There a zillion of them to choose from!

I personally would like to see a 1/35th scale M56!! As well as new tooled M110's and M107's (Vietnam era). Seeing that Hobby Boss is going to do a new M109a2, can a basic M109 be far behind? Then followed by the M108!!

With the M113 there is almost an infinate selection of builds to choose from. Gas engine and deisels engined versions as well as many styles of arms as well.. One that seems to have eluded me over the years is not the M106, but a conversion to build the 81mm mortar version (if somebody did one I've never seen it)

this list could go on forever!

Hooray, Yippee!! An M-109A2!!!!!!!
Hobby Boss? So when is this Baby going to magically appear? Have to wait at least a couple months so Bob and I can get caught up on Masters and production.

The Italeri M-107's and M-110's weren't too bad, at least they were a halfway decent basis to do some serious building and detailing. Of course one never knows what Hobby Boss is up to!

The Academy Sheridan can be "fixed" but like the M-110's, need alot of work. Sure we could do a "From the lower hull-upwards" fix but who wants to fork out all those bucks for all that resin? Of course small fixes here and there won't hurt. Another one to add to the list! At this rate we might just stay with Vietnam/Cold War/Early IDF stuff. Those alone would keep us busy for the next 10 years!

Seeing that Hobby Boss is going to do a new M109a2...

It is actually Kinetic who has announce an M109A2 as their next model.

I am anxiously awaiting to see how they do on it. I hope it has an interior as well.

You and me both Gino! Of course, maybe this will inspire other companies to get on the ball and come up with new US SP Howitzer kits.

The 81mm version is the M-125. I was looking for info on this one but only found a few pics. It is on our "To Do" list along with a better M-106 and M-1064.

got the Hobby Boss part wrong! It's Kenitics. I'll have to have two or three of them, and lets face it, it's gotta be better than the Testors M109 kit!!!

I did some inquiring about the M106 / M125 mortar tracks awhile back, and units like the 1st CAV prefered the M125 for their needs. Yet I've seen photos of the 1st infantry and 25th infantry units using the M106. So guess we could somehow convert the M106 over. Also I'd like to see somebody on thsi side of the great big pond do a little work on the equipment our Aussie friends used.

I, too, did another earch for M-125 info and came up empty-handed. Nuts! We were going to do some Aussie stuff until I heard about Mouse House resins and decided to put a hold on it. Of course, since we're on this side of the great big pond, we might just do some of them anyways. Since that time we've come upon quite a bit of info, pics and drawings on their equipment and their cool looking M-113A4S. That aside, i also remembered a "To Do Someday" project of updating the old M-113 Fire Support Vehicle with a full interior and all the necessary corrections. Problem is, who would buy such a conversion besides 1, 2 or maybe three people?
Right now I have to finish up our M-113A1 Facelift for the tamiya kits. Don't mean to brag but the way this set is turning out it may make the Academy kits obsolete and it'll be in production by the end of this coming week.

Well I reckon I'd have at least two of them so who's having the other one?
I've always wanted to do an opened up M-113 FSV and I have two of the Tamiya ones in the stash waiting.

my brother in law was a recon track TC with the 1st of the 1st CAV, and also have a very good friend that was in the same troop (B). I know Larry has many photos, and Bobby is supposed to also have a bunch. I'll do an inquirey to see what they have, and just maybe we can scan them. There's also another place to look in called Tour Of Duty, and I saw Larry standing ontop an M113 when he was with the 1st of the 4th CAV down south. The 1st of the 1st also has a good website with quite a few photos in there. I had several photos in the PC of mortar tracks (all were M106's), but lost them in the latest PC crash.

I am presently doing a number of M113 varient models, starting with the M901A1 FIST TOW launcher version from the 80s. I drove an M113 for a year in the ROK (not the 901 version), and have some decent photos and such. How about a FIST interior with TOW storage racks and sight holders, TOW tripod, TOW tubes, and such, with a good detailed M901 turrent interior? The upgrade kits I've seen only have the outside of the TOW launchers, and no details of the interior. Could you help us with this version too? I have photos if you need them, of the 901, and the manuals for the vehicle are on the way here now. Thanks Bro, GROG

Sorry about the wait in replying guys, it's been a rough week!
I'm trying to squeeze the M-577 in before Christmas if everything goes well. We have had a few changes in our lineup to try and boost sales. Hopefully things will pick up soon with the Holidays coming.
The M-901 is a tricky area and an interior set has been considered for it also. Maybe down the road a bit once things start running smoother. Thanks for the suggestion though, those are always welcome!

Terre Modèles did an M577 interior set, I have one, it's pretty good.

It's next to impossible to find nowadays so a new one is welcome I guess.

just a note about the gun shields used in RVN. There were at least two completely different ones used on M113's and I think the same can be said with the Sheridan. Also with the Sheridan and the ACAV's the use of the larger 50 caliber ammo cans was in vogue up north, and the mounting brackets were either modified or were made new (I don't remember that far back). I personally would like to see somebody get the engine grates right for once.

Just FYI to all you M113 fans. I have purchased the masters for the M113s from Miliminis and should have them up and running in a couple of weeks. I am also working on a set of bar armor for the M113A3's . I will keep everyone posted when I have the parts and they are ready for distribution.

The design of the bar armor is almost finished. All I really need is a good picture of how the ramp armor is attached and how it opens. It is hinged in the middle so the piece can open with the ramp door, just can't figure out how it is secured.

Put me down for a set, as soon as it hits the market.
