I thought that would be it, It was highly customized though I would imagine. I had an M-1A at one time and regretibly I sold it in the hopes that some day soon I will build an AR in 308.

Brian that EBR is pretty much stock except for a lightened trigger and there is a AR in 308 out there ..sorta ,,I believe there is a M16A? in 7.62x39 Russian ..but i know for a fact that the AR10 (very first AR ) is 7.62 NATO and this i just found out ..copied this from Wiki .
TERAB rifle
The "Terab" rifle is a clone of the Norinco CQ manufactured by the MIC (Military Industry Corporation) of Sudan.[13] The manufacturer's website lists it as a 7.62×51 NATO which would make it more of a copy of the AR-10.[14] The Sudan has a background in military usage of the AR-10, having employed it as its standard service rifle from 1957 to 1989.
Though i wouldn't touch any version of the M4/16 family in 7.62x39 as i have not yet seen anything good written about using this ,heard about problems ranging from bad mags and feed issues .bolts not liking the steel shelll cases ,extractors breaking cause of the steel shells , at the end of the day ..wouldnt worry about using that caliber.
Hunt down a AR10 mate and your sorted

Guys, as you can see, in Australia it's generally too warm for carpet in the mancave, but you'd be amazed how far small parts bounce when dropped on tiles such as Mike's, or in my case, concrete . . . .

Thanks Rob and Kimmo,
I too have spent many hours looking for parts on the tiles.
Its called a maglight torch and persistance to finding the part.
The tiles are excellent for keeping down the dust monster .
Kimmo, I have an understanding wife who lets me close the door and enter another world .

Here is a photo of my current work space. Note the Maglight flashlight for when I drop parts (probably 2 or 3 times per modeling session). I sit on the floor (for some reason I prefer it).

Mike
Yeah, I agree - one of the most important pieces of equipment on my desk and never very far away is a small and very bright LED torch. I've found that the best thing to when I drop a part is to freeze and then listen very carefully - most times I can get a general idea of where it's landed by the sound it makes.

Our house is 900 square feet so i my work area is the dining room table which means everything has to be hidden--I use machinist tool chests that are cheapo's, not the real, real thing but serve the purpose concealing everything......
