Hi Everyone,

Lots of nice work going on and plenty to keep the inspiration going. I have managed to get more done on my Elephant and it is now ready for the painting stage. I hope to get this done in the next week or so, I will post the painting progress as I complete it.

Here is the model's progress...

The hull and fighting compartment are mated together and final details added...

And after priming...

I will be painting it in a three tone scheme as used by Schwere Panzerjaeger Abteilung 653 when in Russia. Thanks for looking, all comments welcome.

All the best,

Paul

great Elefant!

And thanks for showing the silly putty wheel mask. Genius. I'm sure it's not new to many readers, but I've learned something new tonight, so thanks!

Hi Gideon,

Thanks for the comment, the silly putty (White Tac in my case) is a really useful tool as far as I am concerned. Using it like this means I don't have to scrape paint off the inner road wheels to fit the outer ones, always a bit of a chore. Looking at your excellent Puma I would have put it on the axle stubs for the same purpose, I have used it for masking hard edge German camouflage quite successfully.

I also use it on large corks (bungs) to hold items while spraying them, this works really well.

All the best,

Paul

Progress for me has been slow on the Tamiya Kettenkrad. I did get a bit of painting in. I hope to get the tracks on soon and move on to painting the top half of the model.

Thanks Paul, I've used the material for camo like you mention, but never thought about wheel hubs.
Indeed, the Puma will be my testbed for silly putty hub masks. Stay tuned for updates.

many thanks gents!

Gideon the Puma looks awesome makes me want one !

Alan great job with resin artillery ! that stuff is really tricky.

Marc and Paul - great work ! Gary great start on the Krad !

This is still a tricky GB !! I mean I feel close to final hurdle but not really !

So I just did some oil washes to start weathering of the Stummel

hand paint the tools next -- never really enjoy that bit !

best

Nice jagdtiger, Guy. I like the camouflage and the sheer size of the beast

I have made some more progress on my Heller 1/35 Gepard. I was warned about the kit in this tread and I should have listened. It is a very bad kit the goes together very badly, lacks a lot of details, and the details that are there are softly cast and crude.
The use of filler and plastic card is excessive! Cannot be recommended to anybody but masochistic modellers!

A fitting kit for Git R Done campaign nonetheless as the kit fights back all the way. In addition I have found some good color pictures to use as inspiration for weathering and camouflage so it will be a good test kit for different techniques.

More to follow

Nice subtle finish, John. Just take your time on the tracks then it is not so bad. Looking forward to see more.

Tamiya Traction 11CV - 1:48 scale.

Bought the kit earlier this year so haven't collected dust that long, but have been postponed again and again due to other projects, work etc...

Me again. Still going on the BARV...
tulle to pass for extruded metal walkway
Cut tulle to model extruded metal walkways. In hindsight, I should have made it from paper, then traced that onto the tulle, then glued that on. What I did was to cut and glue the tulle as I went, but it stretches and distorts, so I'm not entirely satisfied with my results. Luckily the model is so busy, I think the walkway is passable to the casual observer. The next thing to worry about is whether the paint will work through it alright.

Hello,

Will this qualify as an entry? It was for a campaign a couple of years back. Currently painted, but has yet to be weathered. Cheers

Jesper, I told you about that Heller nightmare... but you're doing great so far ! ( Mine ended in the trash bin )
I think that Heller kit is a "Don't buy it" kit.

Good luck !

Where does the time go. If I don't get my but in gear this project will be in Get 'r Done 10. It's Dragon's Tiger I Initial Production kit and I will be doing it in the markings of #100 sPzAbt 502 at Leningrad.
Since the picture I have finished painting the interior and have built a set of Friulmodel tracks for it.

I have not posted in awhile...been getting some other campaigns wrapped up. Anyway, I jumped back on that Revell of Germany 1.35th Leopard 2A6 I had posted awhile back. I got the model primed and applied the NATO green base coat this weekend. Hopefully I will get the rest of the tri-color scheme applied today. A fun build so far. Beautiful work in this thread everybody. Really good builds going on here.

Best wishes, Ian
