by the way , i tried to upload my pics of the panzer 1 en it says its uploaded but i cant see any of my pics in the campaign album? does somebody know what i did wrong?

That usually means the file was too large. The file should be less than 3MB.

I downloaded one of the images you posted in the thread and uploaded it into the campaign gallery.

Ola Guys

Wow.. You turn your back for a while and everybody is making amazing progress.

@ Alan
That CDL is looking wonderful. Great base too. Just the right size and nicely finished.

@ Jeff Tucker
Great looking sheridan. Very good paintjob and I love all the stowage.

@ Peter
Sterling job on the Panzer I mate. you sure got the best out of that Italeri Monster. Love the Blueish grey and good weathering too. Looking forward to the dio.

@ John (Nito)
Cool will be following that built with great interest. Got meself a nice Tiger as well. The zimmed version.

@ Gary
Great choice. I love the Kettenkrad Great work so far.
And that M5A1 also looks very good. Great job on the tracks

@ Joseph
Very clean built on that Sherman. Looking forward to the paint.

@ John H
Wonderful paintjob on your Sherman. Great weathering too. Love the Oilspills

@ Max
That M20 is coming together nicely. Great detailpainting on the inside and those wooden benches look the part.

I think I got everybody... If not I have seen all of it and the work so far is really good.

Time for a bit of update myself. Have not been all to active here for a bit. Married in the meantime. Honeymooned a bit. And eventually went back to the bench.. And I can say that for 90% I'm finished now. On to the pictures

All the figures are painted now. Only need to attach one MP40

Beatles reference anyone?

And in the meantime after a two month wait. I finally got the rubber sealing ring for my Revell Airbrush and as soon as I got it I gave the Ground works a coat of paint. Today I added grass and vegetation and other bits n bobs that were painted.

And now with the cast and props

A few small things still need to be painted. On most parts it is really detail painting. But I'm happy to have gotten so far and it seems like this one is going to be finished.

It was a great campaign so far. Maybe I can finish another vehicle before the deadline but already this for me was a great achievement.

With friendly greetz

Hi Folks,

It has been a while since I posted, I have been 'lurking' and watching the simply stunning builds going on in this campaign. Hopefully I will be able to take part more fully as the problems preventing me have abated (domestic and health).
I have finished the Jagdpanther, which was a wargaming piece and used to try out different techniques. I am continuing with another wargaming piece, an Elephant by Dragon, and a detailed build of another Elephant with the Atak resin body and superstructure. The Atak set is depicting the Elephant with Zimmeritt, which was applied to the Elephants after they were upgraded. I am also using the Part photo-etch set to detail it further. Anyway here are the pictures of my progress so far. I am uploading the Jagdpanther to the gallery.

Jagdpanther...

The wargaming Elephant...

The detailed Elephant...

Well that's it so far, hope you like them, all comments welcome.

All the best,

Paul

Hi Max,

Interior is looking good.

Hi Robert,

Thanks. Your figures look terrific and the combination within the diorama is 1st class. Excellent work. Someone peeing over the fence would be good .

Hi Paul,

Excellent work.

The 2nd of my CDL Turrets arrived so I might get that done before the campaign ends but no further progress on the Churchill I'm afraid.

Excellent work folks.

Al

@ Alan
Thanks for the compliments. In the original sketch I made up in my mind there was a 7th figure. And you guessed it... One was a peeing figure. However. I had two. One was a masterbox Motorcycle dispatcher who did not really match up in quality with the barbarossa figures from DML. The figure itself is not bad but too much difference. The other was from Hornet but that was just a bit too big for the rest of the figures. It was just a tad too big... but I still decided to leave it off because it did not feel good. Then I had an officer but he did not look relaxed enough. And a guy feeding something to the goat who was not good in detail and size. So eventually I decided to skip figure 7 alltogether. And looking back at it I still think it was a good choice

Some nice looking builds going on here.
I've had a half finished Dragon Sherman Firefly staring at me on my my desk for the last year. I had done a build log for it on the forums explaining how I was accurizing a lot of Dragons c*ck-ups as described in an old copy of Military Modelling magazine. Starting a new job and builds for various campaigns put that one on hold despite my initial enthusiasm and several people watching with interest. To those of you, I apologize! With a gap between now and campaigns due to start in the new year, it would be a great opportunity to finish it.

This is how it looks:

Cool builds going on here. I decided I should get started. I'm going to finish this Panzer IVD if it kills me. I got a little scene in mind too as a lng-term goal

Here is my entry for this campaign. The old Heller Gepard. It will be a fun build and a good chance to experiment with modern type camo netting.

Thanks for the heads up, John. any particular areas I should pay attention to?

Maybe I will have to use the camo netting not only as an experiment, but also to cover up bad fittings in the kit.....

bad fitting, crude plastic, tracks... any 70's Tamyia kit is better... let us know how it goes.

Maybe I'm being to harsh.
I remember I had that kit many years ago, got it real cheap, tried building it and... well it ended up mostly on th trash can and maybe a sprue ended up on the spare box.

OK, thanks John. Sounds like my story. I also got it real cheap - maybe there was a reason for that

I will give it a try. Otherwise I will have something else that needs building.....

Hi Everyone,
I have managed to get more work done on my Elephant, the detailed one, lots of photo-etch added and surprisingly still a lot left on the fret! Anyway here are some photos of my progress with it so far....

First I did the detail work on the fighting compartment and this will be mated with the hull when the detail work on that is finished.

The ring around the commanders cupola is added...

Grab handles are added to the loaders hatch and the rear plate of the compartment, also a lifting lug is added to the rear escape hatch...

A gunsight was added along with the little plate on the rear of it...

The splinter shield is added to the mantlet...

With the detail on the fighting compartment finished I moved on to the hull..

The fender side supports were added...

The front supports were added...

Grab handles were added to the engine deck...

The skids for under the fenders...

The skids in place...

The tow cable fitted...

The jack block photo-etch being assembled...

That's it for now, I hope to get the rest of the detailing finished and join the fighting compartment and hull together, then it is onto painting and weathering.

All the best,

Paul

Jeff feels he can't give this campaign the attention it deserves (you know, Real Life) so does anyone want to step in and take over?

I spend hours try to work with these microscopic PE parts...
Here are a few shots before the nightmare... I have to admit I'm no expert on PE, it's a matter of opinion if it really enhance the build or not, sometimes all those Voyager & Griffon photosets with all that shiny metal are great looking, I don't know... Anyway enough ranting, back to my build.

I gave up on those lockers... I want to finish this build before 2056...
I already spend hours on the floor searching for plastic parts.

The pics...

it's those 4 lockers on the toolbox.. just to give you a sense of scale & work, these PE parts add to be bended 3 times .. take a look at the photo..

So yup... I gave up.

On to the spare tracks , on side done, tomorrow the other side, and the turret will be ready for paint...

:( one of the plastic locks just flew away..couldn't find it

Gonna get back to the bench, the 223 is calling me !

He started the campaign proposal thread but didn't submit the actual campaign for approval so Jeff stepped up to the plate.

Ah!
I understand now.
I could take over if needed, the only issue I have is this is the one thread that I can not get emails for.

Cheers Rob.
