I will have to check to confirm but I think it is Alliance Modelworks. The fret of PE for individual troops is awesome!!! The y straps have about 10 parts or more and you can't believe how cool the entrenching tool carriers are. I have some of their panzer detail stuff as well as the epelets and decorations set. All top notch stuff.
The web gear is not for the faint of heart and takes loads of patience to assemble.

Jerry, some great work here with a lot of potential. Very engaging. Glad to hear the AM set is good, the fret shots looked fantastic when I first saw them.

Yep,that's the one. It has got all the stuff you need to put together German webgear. Two sets per fret as well! It also has a bizzilion other bits too like combs, scissors, gloves, goggles, eating utensils, shelter half grommets, buttons, combat pack carriers, etc, etc. Can't say enough about how good it is if you are into super detailing German Infantry.

I thought that I would post a pic with some primer on that wonderful PE web gear. The folding e-tool is cool but I don't know if it will fit with my scene yet. The weapon slings that are included are awesome as well. Did I say how much I liked this set?? LOL

Watching this one closely, great stuff. Wish I had heard about that PE last year, oh well at least I know about it for the next project.

Wow, that is some impressive painting and...the hair!
What material did you use for the hair on the figure?

Can't wait for the next update.

Ola jerry

Checked up the Alliance model Works and that stuff looks pretty sweet. And the prices are not that bad either for such a full set of PE. Going to get myself some of that stuff.

In the meantime.. some great painting on that figure. the right colors and a nice pattern as well. I too am curious what you used for hair. I have seen some products used through the years but it never did look all that convincing but yours is actually not looking bad at all.

Looking forward to more.

The hair is a technique that I have used since the 80s when I used to make Civil War figures. It is epoxy putty, painted with oils and then you add cotton from a swab, also painted with oils. Less is better!
I have used it for beards and a guy in Japan used this technique but with straight animal hair from a "tall grass" dio product.
You may have seen his awesome dio using the MB checkpoint figures?
I also used this on my horse drawn German arty dio that is on this website.

That hair is CRAZY!!! I cant wait to try that out on some of the figures for my current build! Ridiculously awesome sir. Great job on the pea-dot camo too.... did you use acrylics or oils or both for the faces?

Sweet job If i was wearing a hat I would take it off to you.

Hey Jerry thanks for explaining the technique- I saw that dio with the MB Checkpoint Figures, was pretty damn amazing. Good luck with the rest of this scene Jerry!

Thanks guys for the kind words. In answer to a few of you,I use a base coat of acrylic for the skin parts and then oils for shading. The rest of the figs are done with acrylic. The colors for the cammo are hard to come to terms with. I have 3 different sources for the cammo schemes, all full color modern photos with re-enactors wearing the uniforms and equipment or the original uniform items photographed on display. Unless you have an original uniform item right in front of you in person,it is so hard to get the colors correct. The lighting and photo techniques change the colors from pic to pic until it drives you nuts so you just have to"pick a color"and go with it.
I have seen my buddy Jerry Crandall, hold up an original piece of a German aircraft recovered from a crash site still with original paint and have him be told by a "modeler" that those are not the correct colors!! LOL
That is where we are with modeling lengends,so the end game is"have fun"!! Try not to take it all too seriously.

I found this build today - beautiful build and scene!
It´s a hard scene, but I think it shows the other side(s) of (all) war(s).

greetings and thanks for showing!

Jerry- nice to see the other figure in the scene now. I think you have them interacting brilliantly- the animation and the look on their faces is superb- I think you have the camo schemes down very well too, they sure aren't easy!
