Casper, that's quite a find! Not a high-speed vehicle, for sure. I imagine those oval wheels keep somewhat smooth mounted on that beam, but they must get out of rhythm often and make for an out-of-control ride experience. Looks like many standard Jeep parts up top though.

Bob ..welcome mate,,, your number 9 now if Graeme decides to join too then we have a campaign and can let all our ideas come to life .. the more hunting i do the more i find ..,with the amount of things out there god the choices are huge ,,,bugger
I know the rest of the guys want to build some strange machines but prototypes are more than welcome too . hell what i have in mind is a prototype and 2 ever made .

I have to agree Bob ,, looking at the wheel base how the hell does it turn and i think maybe one of the only vehicles you can get sea sick in with out even going near water.

a mere drop in bucket of the multitude of weird and wonderful creations.
Phill - it's quite obvious that the hippies weren't the only one's using pot and LSD .
Anywho back to my CAD (cardboard assisted design) work to see if the elliptical wheels can be made.

Rog ya got some beauties there mate ,, I know what one and two are ..three .. huh?? as in What the heck! ,, four is along the same lines as three ..five is a Studebaker LC4x4 pilot model truck ..six is someones really not great idea for a LVT but with wheels ? lol
seven looks like a race car/boat lol

One of my mag's ( International Military Machines Jan 2002 ) as a really good write up on it with heaps of pics too .it also looks at the Dutch Bulldog ,the Dutch version of the Brit's FBRV.

Yes, that is on a Leo 1 chassis.... volume 2 of the Shackelton Leopard books (very nice by the way) has a spread on it that includes drawings. As for the Bulldog.... have one about a third finished, but doing that for this build would be cheating just a bit.

Actually, the Leopard books have a lot of shots of odd ball recovery, engineering, mine clearing versions.... both service vehicles and prototypes. Definitely a gold mine if you want to go with the Leopard chassis...

Oh your not wrong Bob ,,, I've got like 5 Leo 1's knocking around in different states of stuffed , but one machines i really want to build is the Sherman BARV , I've got plenty of those too

Bob and Phill, I am planning to build a Dutch BARV for the Support/Recovery Campaign, based on the limited photos I found on the internet. (I don't even know my Leopards, but I'll give it a decent try starting with a Tamiya German Leopard 1, kit #35064.)
For this campaign, still fishing around. I really like that 005 above-- Phill, you said that's a Studebaker prototype? I'll have to delve deeper into that one.

There is some pretty wild stuff out there I love the Russian land battelship, and that huge German tank, someone should make those kits in plastic as im not much of a scratch builder. So I'll stick with my Land-Wasser Schlepper

Truck 1 1/2-ton,4x4,cargo,low silhouette , (Studebaker LC4x4-125950,hercules JXD 6 cyl, 109hp engine,5F1Rx2 gears,WB,105in, 189 3/4 x 92 x 93 3/4 in, 9655lbs, Unusual platform desgin with driver positioned centrally in the front, front entrance, body length (inside) 161in, Pilot only. troop seating capacity for 17 men, front mounted winch had 5000lb capacity , out rigger engine on right hand side .
Thats all my little book has on it , has another pic of it without its one piece roof on it too.
Hope this helps ya out some .
Sal ,, ya i would go with the land /water/ tractor too ..its very cool, very different and the strange thing is it was seen more in the desert than it was anywhere else

That wheeled boat thingy (pic marked 007 ironically) is exactly what I needed for a steampunk converstion I hve in the queue.

Mauro .. matey that thing has been biting at me to build it for yrs ,, trust me the plans are still there . just might have to do something about it for this campaign ,if we can get member number 10 then we will have a campaign .
Work always gets in the way of fun don't it

Sean.... Well, there is always the Rotabuggy. It definitely was built and tested, and looks to be a fairly simple conversion to build... At least compared to that Danish BARV...

For that matter, the Flying Humvee is coming soon (see Transformer TX project), with prototypes in the next 2 or 3 years. We'll see if any are feasible.
We can laugh about these "strange and weird" machines until we go to buy one ourselves sometime down the road.

Roger ,, ya got some very cool things there mate .. that last "thing" is as weird as ,,what the hell is it for ? some over land come water torpedo which can't dive ?
