Great project Rodrigo, as you probably know, we've already spoken aboout
According to the historical references the firsts who found out the camp were some horse recognition patrols belonging to LX army (1st Ukrainian front). They found the camp in the early morning. After them they called medical units to aid the 7000 survivors. Russian sent also some photographers to document the discover. Weather was,of course, incredibly cold but it wasn't snowing.
In my opinion it would be correct if in your dio you put some medical unit soldiers and some other ones depicted while are taking pics
I'll follow for sure your job
Cheers

Mauro, I agree with you.
The diorama is still standing waiting for me to finalize the figures. He will get enough snow yet.
Actually I'll put some 10 Russian soldiers and a prisoner getting help from one of these soldiers, as shown in the photo below.
For the prisoner, I will use this figure:
Some of these soldiers will be pulling a wagon full of groceries to feed the prisoner genocide survivors.
Edo, thanks, but I'm not that good a painter of pictures as well. I think my figures are improving, but still far from being very good.
Here some more pictures I finished this weekend.

Is still missing about 5 soldiers with horses and wagon to complete the scene, after that I get to put the snow and the tree at the entrance.
Big hug.

Thank you Mauro and Nico.
Now I'm working on two more figures ....
It is a prisoner of the field being covered by a soldier.
The prisoner is relatively easy. I have it ready and just make a simple adjustment to the collar of his shirt.
The soldier, I'm doing a "Frankenstein." Is a legs, the arms of another, the head of another ..... and now I'm trying something new for me. I'll try to wrap a cloak of winter in it. I'll make a jacket like the other soldiers. I do not think will be difficult, I hope.
Below the sequence of assembly.

Still missing to make shadows and lights and also disregard the images. Were made yesterday very late at night.

Rodrigo your tree is one of the best I have ever seen! Cannot wait to see how you finish it. I hoped my tree turns out that well. A different technique but hopefully similar results.
Keep up the great work!

Great idea for a diorama! Great job so far!
And thanks for posting photos of the building process. I found a lot to learn from you.
I am only confused about mismatch in the uniforms. For example, this guy dressed as artillery man not later than 1943.
Anyway, if it works for you, it works for me
Good luck with that project!
Alex

Dave, in my case I hunted right here at home (is that I live in a small farm) and found a small tree which, luckily my chance and it had already died and her roots were exactly what I needed. So I just separated the roots thin and it was gluing the ends to a thinner wire coated with other branches and creating thicker roots because the wires were not enough.
Were 3 to 4 hours doing this, because over and had to go hunting again ... lol
Alex, this uniform was used until 1945
lieutenant of land troops, 1943-1945.
I did some research before, but the colors used to paint them are not exactly alike.
Anyway, thanks for the info, if you see something that is still at odds with reality, please let me know.

Well, the photos are bad, but I'm not having much patience to clean it up, put more lights ....
The only time I'm having is between 20:00 and 00:00 and this time you can not do much ... and that when my wife is not going to college that I have to stick with it. So, what little time I'd rather ride ....
I also started to make some tools to put into the cart and on top of all this will open a few bags of potatoes.

Rodrigo,
Your scratch work is fantastic. Those gates are chilling both in the actual pictures and your recreation.
Great job so far.

thanks guys!
I am very pleased with these comments. This only makes us more encouragement to continue building dioramas. thanks again.
Here a few more things ... lol
I used my micro grinder to turning a barbecue stick. With the tip of the stylus I was doing the drawing. The bad thing is that the bottles did not go all exactly alike, but they are very similar.
Here I try to make a vase..... just an experience.

Well, now follows a few more pictures of the wagon finished.
I finished the tree also. Now all that's missing start making snow on the ground and begin to position the soldiers and a prisoner being released.
See you later.
Thanks for your comments.
Rodrigo
