Paul & Jeff I'm looking forward to see your builds starting !

Gotta clear some more space for them as currently the paint booth occupies it and it's not going anywhere.

Plus, THEN I'll have to take a breath in-between breaks to jump on the other current Campaigns I have just to catch up because these two for Tank Destroyer/SPG are going to keep most of my interest.

Speaking of that tank, I went and got a different barrel and brake set up for it. The brake alone has about 4 or 5 pieces and looks much more detailed than the one piece I have.

I need to work on mine now that you mentioned it.

All this weekend!

Here what I've done since my last post.

Worked on the wheels (type B and type C -- inner and outer wheels)

I will work on the lower hull first and the interior too, I will not follow the instruction sheet.

So next step will be the lower hull & interior details and exaust. Rest of the wheels and track too... but I still have to finish my Blitz & Dragon Campaign builds...

I have a lot of work ahead Jeff... and next week the APC/AFV Campaign... what a Summer !!!! Full of plastic & Glue & Paint

John, is that a wise move? I mean, remember the StuG IV and the drivers area?

Leave that accelerated maneuver to experienced kit bashers like me.

I will read the instruction sheet, but I'll have to be more careful and turn off the music...

I'm just building 3 kits, and have to finish the Blitz Campaign this weekend.. I hope.

Well I’ve made some progress on the lower hull. All the suspension components are in place along with the rear hull finished. Also have the front half of the upper hull glued down. I decided to spruce up the build a little with a partial engine. I went through my stash of models tonight and found an engine drop in for a T-55 and it fit’s the hull. Not much will be seen once the deck in place, but it will help break up the plain looking tank.

Thanks Jeff, kind of a spur of the moment when I spot the kit just buried amongst the other models.

By the way kit are you going to start with? I know you have two for the line up.

Hey just a heads up, I'll be mailing you the other set of wheels for your VAB on Monday.

I'll probably open bags on the le.FH18/40/2(sf) auf G.W.Pz.Kpfw.III/IV first, since the fighting compartment is what attracted me on this somewhat expensive kit.

Thanks for the FYI on the VAB parts. The usual follow-up will proceed in appreciation.

some really cool builds going on here, I shall start this afternoon.
@John: I did the Emil a couple of years ago, please take
care when you add the upper hull, gun and casematt, I´m not sure what I did wrong but ended up with fit problems of the casematt to the hull.
@ Phill: are you going to build your E 100 Jagdp. straight
from the box, or are going to change it in any way? I disliked the Panther cupola and kit tracks.
@ Christopher: lovely build of the missile tank,. Where did the engine come from? I have a T55 and 62 in my stash and would like to add something similar.
@ Jeff: have you decided yet? If not I hope this helps you decide. I took these 2 pictures in 1999 at Duxford Imperial War Museum in the UK. The vehicle is no longer there, it was removed X-Mas 2001 or 2.

I am sure I had a couple of the fighting compartment, if I find them I´ll get em to you.

Hey ya Paul .. To be honest mate i have no idea what i am gonna do with the E100 .. I would like to replace the tracks too ,,might be able to do something about that ,,I don't like the kit tracks either and the ones in this kit are stuffed ..they are twisted which means nothing but problems ..so ya i think these will go bye bye

Phill

PS love those pics ..looks like someone knocked a wall down and its like "look what i found !! "

Chris ... A very nice choice and very original tank to build for here .. that engine is very cool ,,dude you gotta detail and paint the hell out of that engine and really being it to life ..leave the engine hatches open and then its gonna look great

Thanks guys for the comments

I like the builds going on so far, can't wait to see more. I almost thought about building the emil myself since squadron had it on sale for pretty cheap awhile back.

Paul- the engine drop in is from verlinden productions. It's not bad, but everything is cast as a solid piece.

Phill- I was planning to leave the engine hatches open. I'm even looking at the idea of the foward deck being removed so you can see more of the engine.

Hi guys i decided to go with the kit i originally planned, Italeri Jagdpanzer Iv F, transformed into L/70. Not difficult since every part needed is provided in the kit except for the main gun. I have a Griffon gun to solve this, so here we go, hopefully tomorrow with an update.

Keep modelling!!!!!!

Yes it has a lot of parts, but the level of detail is also very good. Fit is yet to be seen........

John,

I partially built this kit. Actually the Testors L/70 kit which is a rebox of Italeri, I recognize the sprues. I did have some fit issues with the hull and fenders. Also some of the details, especially the engine grilles, are not so good. Honestly, I did not enjoy the build much, partly because I did not catch the fender issue (rookie mistake) until it was too late. I have no doubt you will have better luck.

I'm still on the fence about what to build, I have a Sturer Emil, Academy Hetzer, several rolling sIG33's, etc. Too many choices and too many campaigns.

Hi there,
here´my progress up till now, there´s only 10 building steps but they have it in them

I have stopped at step 6 but there is nothing fixed in the hull, here´s the problems I´ve met so far:
Pt RB 3 is not mentioned, but needs to be added to RB1
Pt D5 is D57 (back of radio)listed as apart not needed
Pt C21 is not mentioned, but needs to added to Pt20
Pts D42 and 58 are listed as not needed but need to
be added to Pt D52
Pt P19 (breech block) neeeds Pt37 adding to the back, this is not mentioned.
Well Dragon is keeping up the standards with its instructions, bloody shame because this kit cost 45€.
and there are no magic tracks,(old school cut from sprue
and clean up the eject points),no metal barrel
Paul
